The Possession Takes Over Box Office

BOX OFFICE

(Lionsgate)

Horror flick The Possession took the top spot in a slow box office weekend.

The movie earned $9.5 million.

Still, that was good enough to beat the Shia LaBeouf-Tom Hardy bootlegger film Lawless, which snagged second place with $6 million.

Coming in third with $4.9 million was Bradley Cooper’s new drama The Words.

Action star extravaganza The Expendables 2 and the animated ParaNorman secured fourth and fifth places with $4.8 million and $4.3 million, respectively.

Rounding out the Top 1o were The Bourne Legacy ($4.1 million), The Odd Life of Timothy Green ($4 million), The Campaign ($3.5 million), 2016: Obama’s America ($3.4 million), and The Dark Knight Rises ($3.4 million).

pittifully slow weekend at the box office at least it’s going to a deserving flick granted I’ve loved Kyra Sedgwick since she played daughter Ruth in Mr & Mrs Bridge 22 years ago

I saw Possession. I’m a horror flick junkie. There are some truly creepy scenes in this one!! I liked it. As far as horror movies, it’s one of the best I’ve seen in a long time (and I see them all).

I first read this as “Poseidon” and thought, why did they remake this AGAIN???

But now I see that’s not right.
