The Office To End After Upcoming Season

Truth rating: 10

(NBC)

“The Office” is ending after its upcoming ninth season.

Executive producer Greg Daniels confirmed the news in a Tuesday conference call with reporters.

“This will be the last season of ‘The Office,’ and we’re planning a big, exciting last season,” said Daniels, who added that, among other surprises, viewers will finally get a glimpse of the people behind the “documentary” that’s been the series’ premise.

Ed Helms replaced Steve Carell as the boss in the fictional Dunder Mifflin paper company’s Scranton branch office after Carell’s Season 7 departure.

Other cast members, including Rainn Wilson and Mindy Kaling, have their own TV projects set to debut in the coming months.

Another crappy show that ran 4 or 5 seasons to long. Good by Office.

so sad about it. My favorite show

  • pixie1824

It should have ended five seasons ago when it was still brilliant. Americans really know how to run a show into the ground.

  • Carrell Fan

I was so addicted to this show and watched seasons 1 and 2 over and over again. But then they changed it to be more sit-com-y (not a real word, but you know what i mean). I used to go to another site, where television is shown no pity, and after each episode there would be 25 pages of comments in just a few hours. As the comedy got broader, the comments dwindled. Now it is a ghost town there. At least I still have the first two seasons on DVD.

it was good, but nowhere near as funny as the English version.

Watch them all on Netflix awesome

I agree, the English version was always funnier to me, I
love Ricky Gervais. My coworkers at Dish
and I were talking about it. We all
agreed Steve Carrell’s exit should have been the end of the series. It’s much better to go out while you’re still
on top; I think they’ve waited too long.
This season I’ll let my new Hopper DVR record The Office with it’s Prime
Time Anytime feature which records ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX every weekday during
primetime. When I do get around to
watching The Office I can watch it with the commercials as it aired or with the
commercials pre-skipped. I will miss The
Office, but I guess I have the new spin off to look forward to as well.
