“The Jungle Book” Roars To Second Weekend Box Office Win
The Jungle Book roared to a second weekend box office win. As Gossip Cop reported, the new Disney movie, which combines live action with CGI animation, conquered the box office kingdom with its debut last weekend. Now it remains king of the movie-going jungle for a second straight week. This time around, the film brought in $60.8 million, putting it close to breaking the $200 million-mark in just two weeks.
That good fortune did not extend to The Huntsman: Winter’s War. The sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman, which starred Kristen Stewart, had a disappointing debut at the box office with returning stars Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron. It only earned $20.1 million. Barbershop: The Next Cut dropped from the number two spot to third place this week with $10.8 million. Meanwhile, Zootopia secured fourth with $6.6 million, and Melissa McCarthy’s The Boss came in at number five with $6.1 million.
Rounding out the Top 10 were Batman V Superman with ticket sales of $5.5 million for sixth place, while Criminal nabbed a seventh-place finish at $3.1 million. My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 came in eighth with $2.1 million, and Compadres had ticket sales of $1.4 million for ninth place. A Hologram For The King just made the Top 10 with $1.2 million.
