The Great Gatsby Trailer Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire & Carey Mulligan

TRAILER

(YouTube)

Director Baz Luhrmann’s much-hyped 3D take on The Great Gatsby finally has a trailer.

Leonardo DiCaprio stars in the title role, with Tobey Maguire as Nick Carraway and Carey Mulligan as Daisy Buchanan.

The story, of course, is an American classic of ambition and identity set against author F. Scott Fitzgerald’s Roaring 1920s.

Isla Fisher and Joel Edgerton are also featured.

I hope the actual movie doesn’t turn out like the trailer

Agree Jane. I also dislike the music score. It isn’t correct for that time period.

You said a mouthful. That was awful…looks like a rental. Leo or no Leo!

So true. And why use the hit song from the SAFE HOUSE soundtrack?! That was so out of place…and only makes you think of SH.

We were really looking forward to THE GREAT GATSBY, but…now, not so much.

I think that movie is strictly for the trailer guys lol

I meant I think that music is only for the trailer you guys lol

It’s a Baz film, he changes everything and it will turn out great. You can always just watch the old one.

  • Insat

It’s a great book, I hope the movie is going to stick to it, otherwise everything will just be lost in a bunch of visual effects and no content to it, just to suit most of American audience. DiCaprio is an established A-class actor, no more crap like Inception for him, please.

this telling of it is gonna fail like it did 38 years ago why bother

  • Eyeroll

Maybe the music isn’t appropriate for the time period but I don’t think there could be any argument that Jack White rocks “Love is Blindness” much harder than Bono.

Music was terrible, but the actual visuals look really good. I don’t know about the Daisy portrayal. She seems weird like she is on tranquilizers or something. Not the impression I got from reading the book. Tobey McGuire is great as Nick. I think it will be a hit for the same reason Titanic was a hit. Every girl in my high school saw that movie just to swoon at Leo. Now every girl whose ever been in high school and read The Great Gatsby will get to swoon all over again.

I sure hope so! If its representative of the entire score, it will really suck. Totally out of sync with the 1920s jazz age music of the time.
