Andi Dorfman Starts Search for Love, Cuts Six on The Bachelorette Premiere: Recap
The premiere started with a short tribute to Eric Hill, a contestant who tragically died in a paragliding accident after his appearance on the show.
Host Chris Harrison dedicated the season to Hill, calling him a part of “The Bachelor” family.
The episode then had Dorfman sharing how excited she was to have a second chance at finding love.
The “Bachelorette” said she’s ready to find a husband, and the love of her life, admitting that she’s most excited for the proposal that awaits her on the very last day.
During a short visit with her parents, Dorfman jokingly asked her father if he will be tougher on the final two suitors than he was on Juan Pablo, proving that the controversial “Bachelor” is gone, but not truly forgotten.
When Dorfman arrived in Los Angeles, her sister helped her get ready and reminded her of how special she is during an emotional moment.
The “Bachelorette” then met her handsome hunks with the show’s infamous limo entrances.
In addition to the usual pick-up lines and gestures, Cody, a personal trainer, created a spectacle by making it look as though he was “pushing” the limo up the driveway.
Patrick, an advertising executive, brought out a soccer ball before kicking it over the fence, reminding Dorfman that although he plays soccer, he is nothing like the last soccer player she knew.
Helicopter pilot Emil confused her by introducing himself as “Anal” with an “M,” ensuring that she will never forget his name.
But the strangest gesture had to be when hairstylist Brett brought Dorfman a lamp had taken from the hotel.
During the cocktail hour, social media marketer Andrew and Patrick formed a bromance based on Formula 1 racing and an affinity for being the best dressed men in the room.
Then it got super weird.
Former “Bachelorette” and “Bachelor Pad” contestant Chris Bukowski — not a suitor this season — crashed the meet-and-greet with his own bouquet of roses before being picked up by security.
Bukowski begged Harrison to see Dorfman, forcing the host to play messenger between the two.
After explaining the situation to Dorfman, the “Bachelorette” chose not to meet Bukowski because it would be unfair to the other guys.
In a weak moment, Bukowski claimed that he had actually been lurking around the show’s premises for SEVEN days.
Eventually, the host finally convinced him to leave.
After mingling at the cocktail party, Dorfman handed out the first impression rose to software sales executive Nick V. because he came off as cute, sweet, and above all, genuine.
At the rose ceremony, Dorfman had to make her first big saves and eliminations of the season, ultimately cutting six guys.
Emil, Rudie, Josh B., Jason, Mike and Steven were sent home.
Josh B. did not take it well and left after dropping multiple F-bombs outside.
