Busting bad dish!

The Bachelorette Emily Maynard Tearfully Chooses Final Two!

Truth rating: 10

RECAP

(ABC)

Fresh off the hometown dates, Emily Maynard and her remaining three suitors traveled to Curacao on Monday’s episode of “The Bachelorette.”

Maynard spent quality time alone with Arie, Jef and Sean - but not all of the guys made it to the Fantasy Suite at the end of their respective dates.

Sean’s date with Maynard began with a helicopter tour of the tropical locale, with the two ending up at their very own private island.

As the pair discussed the Dallas insurance agent’s previous relationships, Maynard was disappointed he didn’t open up about his feelings towards her and share those three special words.

But during their romantic dinner on the beach, Sean impressed the single mom when he shared a letter he wrote to her young daughter, Ricki.

As they continued talking, Sean confessed, “I have fallen in love with you and I know it without a shadow of a doubt.”

He then accepted the offer to stay in the Fantasy Suite, saying he wanted to stay up talking with her – in private.

But Maynard ultimately decided not to spend the overnight hours with Sean, saying it wasn’t the example she wanted to set for her daughter, and the extra time together wouldn’t change the feelings she already has for him.

On Jef’s date with Maynard, the two set out on the open water, traveling on their own private boat, where they discussed their families – and potentially being parents together.

During dinner, the Salt Lake City-based entrepreneur put Maynard in the hot seat, asking some key questions such as where they would live and why Maynard has been so unlucky in love.

Unlike past suitors, Maynard said, Jef is more than just perfect on paper. Similarly, he revealed she is the first girl he can see a permanent future with.

And when Jef asked if he would be a good fit as Ricki’s father, Maynard said he would be a “perfect” fit.

When the prospect of spending time in the Fantasy Suite came up, Jef said he knew their families and Ricki might be watching, so it might be more respectful to pass and wait for a more appropriate time and place.

Maynard was impressed, and suggested they go for a bit but spend the overnight hours separately, to which he agreed.

Arie and Maynard kicked things off by swimming with dolphins, during which she realized his “protective instinct” would make him a great dad.

The two went on to spend some time locking lips, with Maynard pointing out that all of Arie’s favorite moments thus far involved them kissing.

That prompted Maynard, during dinner, to urge the race car driver to open up about his everyday life, to see if they were more than just physically compatible.

In turn, Arie asked Maynard if she would be willing to move Ricki to his home-base of Scottsdale, Arizona, and what she’s looking for in a father for her little girl.

But Maynard, though pleased with the results of their conversation, opted not to even present Arie with the Fantasy Suite option, admitting to the camera that she didn’t trust herself in that situation with him, and preferred to try to be a role model.

After watching emotional video messages from each of the guys, it was time for an already tearful Maynard to begin the rose ceremony and hand out her final two roses, despite being fearful of breaking someone’s heart – and potentially making the wrong choice.

Maynard began by telling the men she cared about each of them and was “sorry” for what she had to do.

The first rose went to (SPOILER ALERT)…  Jef.

And the second – and last – rose went to… Arie.

Sean appeared shocked by Maynard’s decision, and the Bachelorette broke down in tears as he admitted how hurt he was by her choice.

Maynard said she had hoped it would work out with him, and Sean acknowledged she had to do what was best for her.

And with that, Sean was sent on his way.

What do you think of Maynard’s decision?

Next week, ABC will air the “Men Tell All” special, with the finale taking place on July 22.

I decided I couldn’t watch the entire show so tuned in right at the end of the date with Ari. I have to say, Emily is annoying. Can someone tell me what is the appeal of Jef?? How can she give up Sean for Jef?? Jef looks like a kid and they just don’t match to me.

I feel that Emily is really not 100% into this.

Emily made the right decision by sending Sean home he’s seems like the kind of guy who will probably have a midlife crisis in his 40′s and would end up dumping his wife for a younger bimbo. I love Jef for his humanitarian, dedicated, sweet, genuine, and driven traits. I like Arie’s siblings his twin brothers are so cute and his mom seems like such a cool mother-in-law who ages very well and definetly has good genes.

I agree with guest, why would she pick Jef over Sean? That is just stupid. I think its all a script that each are following and getting money for it! The one that is going to really miss out is the little girl, Ricky who probably is thinking she is going to get a daddy, but mommy is just wanting the money.

come on, use your common sense here. Arie is going to win, she’s been obsessed with him from episode 2 or so. Jef is a solid runner up, if for some reason Arie ran off before the finale Jef could be a solid back up, a la Ali’s season where frank ran off, so she landed with whoever that dude was.

But the gimmick of this show just doesn’t really actually work, the girl makes up her mind by episode 2 and then sticks with that dude and brings along a bunch of decent dudes who would be fun to hang out with in the mean time.

I love Jef ! I feel like he would be a great father too Rikky. Yes , he looks young, since when is that a bad thing ? lol. Anyways, it seems like Arie & Emily only have a physicall connection . #TEAMJEF (:

  • dw

I hope she picks Arie! I dont get what she sees in Jef, although he is very nice, I dont get the attraction, unless she is just looking for a father for Ricky and not paying wnough attention to what she wants. And from the way it looks, Arie gets to her in every way but if she chooses Jef its because she is thinking only of her daughter

  • dw

NOt according to the spoilers. Unfortunately. :(

  • dw

Looking young is not a bad thing, except if you are with a woman and look like a little boy.

  • Claire

Agreed! Jef looks TOO young 4 Emily….totally mis-matched. And Ari is a playboy….she should have ran to Sean!

  • mayhemgirl

I can’t believe she sent Sean home. I like Jef, but I honestly think Sean was the best guy. Arie is shady I don’t like him at all, but that is probably who she is going to pick, because they always pick the guy I don’t want them too LOL Except Ashley, I always liked JP

  • mayhemgirl

And sorry, I know this is kinda rigged and not exactly real, but I was mad at Emily for forcing Sean to tell her how he felt and then dropping him. That annoyed me, its like she was collecting I love you’s from these guys. I don’t think I would believe anyone who told me they loved me in that situation

  • Lori

Jef is not too young; he turns 28 this month. He seems like a genuine guy, and he is clearly socially responsible and invested in helping others. Sure, he has a baby face – how is that a bad thing? When Emily isn’t all “glam” she looks young, too. Who knows if this will work out for her, but Jef certainly isn’t a bad choice. I think this guy has his head on straight, plus he’s just quirky enough to be fun and interesting. I also think Sean was great, but their interaction seemed a bit awkward to me. Arie is hot, no doubt, but I don’t see him being selfless enough to take on an instant family. I’m hoping the spoilers are right…

  • Guest

I don’t think she will choose Ari even though there’s ths strong physical attraction between them.

  • guest

No Jef is not too young, he just looks so young much younger looking than Emily. A woman never wants her guy to look younger than her. To me Emily looks older than him whether she’s glomme up or not. Listen if Jef is what she wants go right it really doesn’t matter to me who she chooses

  • Anonymous

Sorry, I really think Sean was too shy to admit he loved her and was waiting for an opening from Emily. Ari just wants sex, obviously. Jef is a great guy, so I hope he wins if Sean is out.

the most poignant thing said last night was sean saying “when she came in the room i actually said to myself there’s my wife.” didn’t arie show his true colors with the ricki comment? maybe she likes weak, so she can rule, but his mother has that job. good luck with her as a mother-in-law.maybe it’s the race car driver thing, but she’s been there done that. those acting retakes of arie’s with supposed words from the heart made me sick. after sean’s incredible exit without ego or pity driven spite, he never mentions the other two. he knows it’s not about rivalry, they are not the man he is. as for jeff, he does look like her boy. i think he and his family have money. aquarius emily you’ve had my love and respect until now. maybe it’ll be alright.

  • dw

Deb leah, I think sll of the guys had outtakes, they just werent as funny. They all get to plead their case of love one last time of video and they all screw up a few times and get to redo it. They just chose Arie’s b/c they were funny. I thought they were hilarious. Sean was a true gentleman in every sense of the word, even though his heart was breaking right there in front of America. It made me feel so bad for him but I think he will be fine. Remember Chris with the rainbow from Ali’s season? He is married now and very happy. I do not think Jef is right for her either but she has to be the one in love not us. Some people are angry at Emily for asking questions about their finances, but I think she is very smart and looking at her and Ricki’s future. For a girl her age, Emily is smarter than I was at her age. I do believe she is looking for love but also looking out for her future. Why not have the love of your life and have money too? I think that is a great plan!

  • GUEST

I THINK ARIE IS SCUM, THERES JUST SOMETHING ABOUT HIM THAT IS SUSPICIOUS, JEF IS A GOOF BALL AND EMILY SEEMS TO LIKE THAT BC HE MAKES HER LAUGH FEEL COMFORTABLE AND WOULD BE FUN FOR RICKY! AS FOR SEAN, HE REALLY IS THE PERFECT MAN!!! HOW CAN SHE NOT BE INTO HIM??? IM STILL IN SHOCK, BUT I THINK SHE HAS SOME INSECURITIES ABOUT HERSELF AND ALMOST FELT LIKE SHE WASNT GOOD ENOUGH FOR HIM,,,,IDK LOL EMILY SEEMS LIKE A GREAT WOMAN BUT I THINK SHE DEFINITELY SCREWED UP LETTING SEAN GO, IF SHES REALLY THINKIN ABOUT HER DAUGHTER IN ALL OF THIS SHE WOULD HAVE SEEN THAT SEAN IS READY TO BE THE BEST HUSBAND AND FATHER!

  • Aju948

jef looks just like Mickey Rooney in the old Andy Hardy movies. Ari has a tad more appeal than Seinfield. Sean would have been a great catch for Emily. Truth is — he’s too good for her. Sean should be the next bachelor and America will give the show top ratings.
