‘The Bachelor’ Recap: Nick Viall Goes On First One-On-One Date, Sends Woman Home Before Rose Ceremony
On Monday’s “The Bachelor,” Nick Viall went on the season’s first one-on-one date, two group dates, and even sent one woman home before the rose ceremony. Get the full recap here!
As Gossip Cop reported, last week was the season premiere of “The Bachelor,” during which Nick met 30 women. He gave the first impression rose to Dallas-based attorney Rachel, who he later kissed. He also made out with Corinne, who’s shaping up to be this season’s villain. At the first rose ceremony, however, eight women were sent home, leaving 22 remaining competitors for his heart.
The second episode of Season 21 began with Nick going on a group date with 12 women, including Alexis, Brittany, Corinne, Danielle L., Elizabeth W., Hailey, Jasmine, Lacey, Raven, Sarah, Taylor, and Vanessa. For the date, the ladies took part in a photo shoot at Los Angeles’s Ascona Mansion, dressed as assorted brides and bridesmaids. The photographer had the women wear different gowns for the “Wedding Photos.” Among the different brides were a “1980s Bride,” a “Shotgun Wedding Bride,” a “Biker Bride,” a “Traditional Bride,” and even an “Adam and Eve Bride,” which had Brittany wearing just a leafy bikini bottom and no top.
While Brittany wasn’t happy about her lack of a wedding dress, Corinne was envious of her topless competitor. She even said she want to “punch” Brittany and “one-up her.” So when the feisty blonde posed with Nick as a “Beach Bride,” she got into the pool and took off her own top. Corinne even suggested to the wedding photographer that she do “a Janet Jackson,” with Nick holding her bare breasts from behind. While the other women were horrified, it worked because the photographer felt Corinne won the bridal gown challenge. And even though Corinne annoyingly interrupted everyone during drinks that night, shockingly Nick gave her the group date rose.
Danielle M., the neonatal nurse from Nashville, went on this season’s first one-on-one date. She and Nick took a helicopter ride directly to a yacht, where they sailed around Newport Beach. There was kissing inside the boat’s hot tub and later a dinner for two. During their meal, Nick talked about his dating history on the “Bachelor” franchise. Danielle M. then confided she was once engaged, but her fiance died of a drug overdose, and she was the one who found him. Nick told her he admired her even more for her honesty. At the end of their one-on-one date, Danielle M. received a rose.
Next was the episode’s second group date with Astrid, Christen, Jaimi, Josephine, Kristina, and Liz, who, as Gossip Cop previously reported, slept with Nick after they two attend Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert’s wedding. For the group date, they went to Los Angeles’ Museum of Broken Relationships, where the women saw some artifacts from splits, including an engagement ring and rose from Nick when he was on “The Bachelorette.” During the outing, each woman was tasked with staging her own “break up” with Nick. Some of the ladies really got into it.
Josephine, who yelled, “How many more bottles do I have to pick up before you realize you’re losing me,” then slapped Nick across the face. For her turn, Liz related how she met him at Jade and Tanner’s wedding and expressed, “I wish you would have fought for me.” He later told the camera that her story made him “uncomfortable,” and that they needed to speak about why she was on the show. The bachelor was also unsure whether she had shared their history with the other women.
Actually, unable to keep her secret anymore, Liz earlier told Christen about her night of sex with Nick. So when Christen shared a little alone time with the bachelor during the group date, she told Nick she knew all about his romp with Liz. None too happy about that, Nick met up with Liz privately to see whether she used their past as an excuse to get on TV. After talking for a bit, the bachelor felt more unsure about Liz and her motives, and ultimately Nick sent her home.
