In a New York City Best Buy on Monday to sign her new album, Rihanna had one very special visitor: six-year-old Jasmina Anema.
Back in February the performer heard of her young fan’s battle with NK-cell leukemia and appealed for new bone marrow donors. The plea led thousands of new donors to register with DKMS America – and resulted in a match for Jasmina. On April 2 the performer visited the youngster at NYU Medical Center as she awaited a transplant. The two spent several hours together, with Rihanna giving Jasmina a makeover and bedside manicure.
On Monday the two had their emotional reunion, the first since Jasmina’s transplant.
For someone who experienced life’s ugliness this past year, Rihanna’s good work on behalf of Jasmina is something to be thankful for – and to emulate – this week.
