Breaking Dawn Nears Half a Billion Dollars at Box Office + Weekend’s Top 10

Not only did Breaking Dawn take first place again at the box office, raking in $62.3 million over the five-day Thanksgiving holiday weekend, but the film has now earned close to half a billion dollars.

To date, the fourth installment of the Twilight series has earned $221.3 million in North America, and with an international take of $268 million (including this weekend’s $71.5 million), the worldwide cumulative gross is $489.3 million.

Coming in second this holiday weekend was The Muppets, which has returned to the big screen in a big way with $42 million in ticket sales.

Securing third was Happy Feet Two with $18.4 million.

Arthur Christmas and Hugo took fourth and fifth places with $17 million and $15.4 million, respectively.

Rounding out the Top 10 were Jack and Jill ($14.1 million), Immortals ($12.5 million), Puss in Boots ($10.4 million), Tower Heist ($10.2 million) and The Descendants ($9.2 million).

    Am so happy with the success of this movie. I watched this movie 3 times and counting. I never watched movie so many times in my life .. i just love watching Rob and Kris on screen.. so authentic and their chemistry so amazing.. This is the first Twilight Saga i watched in the theater. Don’t know about twilight before until Showtime showed the 3 Twilight saga last July and i was hooked not by the movie but the chemistry between Kris and Rob..there something avout this 2.. hope they will make movies together other than Twilight.

    I love hearing about new “converts” (welcome!) — just met one the other day. She decided to rent all three DVD’s and find out why all the hoopla about Breaking Dawn. Was immediately hooked. However, she had no idea Rob was British!! Once she found that out after hearing him speak on some talk show, she was doubly hooked :))

    I’m a big Twilight fan, but honestly speaking, the first three movies can not even compare to BD1. I have seen the movie 3 times because the chemistry between Rob and Kristen is absolutely amazing! It is not only true to the book, but also incorporates comedy and some action into the mix–a recipe that will entertain guys as well. It’s great!

    Robet Pattinson is getting the worst reviews for this movie. LOL…… no wonder the insiders think his career is at a dead end.

    this man cannot act. he is the worst from the 3. even TL is better than him. he has to use his c +ck to get ahead,check out hookup w/ caitlinC. he know this. he can try writing. or maybe music.
    even reese in wfe cannot help his acting. belami or cosmo might be different. using his sex appeal as a lover boy will not help in the long run. leo de caprio nor johnny depp he is not. these men have talents

    Can’t wait to see BD1 – going this weekend! Wish the Paps would leave Rob & Kristen alone in London. He gets papped and then some gossip column then says he’s miserable! How would they feel constantly being followed? Then you get the same columns saying they look too casual & scruffy. Get real! They’re trying to live as normal a life as much as possible , they’re not into the celebrity lifestyle or party scene.

    Have you actually seen the movie ? Or are you passing comment based on what a very small minority of people have written?
    Have you see Remember Me? Probably not or you would see just how he can act. Or Little Ashes?
    Using his sex appeal? If Rob read that comment he’d p*** himself laughing! He is so not the person you are describing! Watch his interviews and see how humble he is. Then come back and comment.
