Teresa Giudice “Deeply Sorry” For Her Crimes, Pledges Love To Joe On Watch What Happens Live — WATCH VIDEOS
Teresa Giudice said she was “deeply sorry” for her crimes on part two of her “Watch What Happens Live” interview. As Gossip Cop reported, the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star and husband Joe sat down with host Andy Cohen to discuss their recent prison sentences. Following Monday’s part one, Thursday’s continuation kicked off with Cohen calling Teresa out for saying the “Real Housewives” is scripted.
Giudice was forced to admit several instances of her behavior on the show were genuine, and insisted she wasn’t trying to be more low-key in the last season to win favor with the court. “I’m supporting my family,” she said. “That’s the reason I’m on the show.” The couple was then asked if she blamed the “Real Housewives” for getting them in trouble with the feds.
“I take responsibility,” said Teresa, while Joe added, “I blame myself.” But Teresa said she didn’t “feel comfortable” when asked if she thought she’d be going to prison if it wasn’t for the show. Still, Teresa went on to blame her accountant for understating their assets, and she then clashed with Joe over the explanation. Cohen next called the pair out for not paying the $200,000-plus they were expected to pay before sentencing, and the two talked over each other again trying to explain why. Joe was asked about the chance he could be deported to Italy for being a convicted felon, but he said he would “worry about that when the time comes.”
“It’s in God hands,” said Teresa. The topic then segued into the recent unexpected passing of Joe’s dad, and he became emotional as Cohen pressed the personal issue. “I’d do ten years just to see him again,” said a teary-eyed Joe. Joe’s attorney had pleaded for him to be sent to a rehab — instead of prison — for an alcohol issue, and he confessed to Cohen that he drinks “every day.” “I might have a little problem, yeah,” said Joe. “I’m not gonna lie… Sometimes two bottles by myself.”
They TV personalities stressed that Joe doesn’t drink and drive, and that the kids are usually asleep when he drinks, which Joe said helps him get to sleep himself. Teresa said her oft-troubled relationship with brother Joe and sister-in-law Melissa is better now, and that her sibling was “crying like a baby” over her sentence. That said, Teresa didn’t have any family come to court, and said she wanted only her husband to “be there for my daughters” — not her brother and Melissa.
The former “Celebrity Apprentice” contestant started to cry when she said all that she wants from her brother is for him to stay close to their parents, as she’s very concerned about her own father in the wake of Joe losing his dad. Asked about the state of their businesses, Joe said, “This whole thing has like killed everything.” Teresa went on to echo an earlier topic, saying that because she’s on television, her businesses are “scrutinized.”
But Joe vowed to now “make sure everything is crossed, everything is dotted the right way.” “Believe me, now I’m going to be on top of him,” added Teresa. Cohen then asked them to tackle recent rumors, such as the tabloid story falsely claiming Teresa was pregnant. She also denied she’s leaving Joe, and disputed allegations that she had full hair and makeup done before heading into her court sentence. Teresa went on to say, “I admitted I made a mistake and I’m paying for my actions. Throughout everything I’ll learn from my mistakes and be a better person for it.”
But is this all Joe’s fault? And does she resent him? “I don’t think he meant to hurt me in any way,” she said, becoming emotional again. Joe acknowledged he felt guilty, and said he tried everything to avoid getting Teresa in trouble, or at least behind bars. He said directly to his wife, “I just want to apologize that I got you into this mess… If I could take it all back, I would.” The two then expressed their love for one another, and shared a kiss. Cohen closed things out by asking if Teresa had any final words. “I want to apologize to people out there I let down,” she said. “I want to say I’m deeply sorry for what I’ve done.”
