Teresa Giudice “GMA” Video 2016: Watch First Post-Prison Interview Here!
Teresa Giudice gave her first post-prison TV interview on Tuesday’s “Good Morning America.” Watch below.
As Gossip Cop reported, Giudice was in prison from January 2015 until December for bankruptcy and mortgage fraud. A house arrest term ended last week, but she remains on probation. Giudice is now telling all, both in her memoir Turning The Tables and in a sit-down with ABC’s Amy Robach.
“It was no country club, trust me,” Giudice said of the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury. “I mean there was mold in the bathrooms. There was not running water constantly. The showers were freezing cold. It was hell. It was definitely like living in hell.”
Giudice said she worked in the kitchen, wiping tables three days a week, for which her first paycheck was $1.60. She insisted being housed with other felons didn’t frighten her. “I wasn’t scared. It wasn’t like I was terrified. I knew I could hold my own,” she told Robach.
Asked about the charges that landed her behind bars, Giudice said point-blank, “I didn’t know I was committing a crime. The government saw differently. I got sentenced. I got served time. I did what I had to do and now I’m moving past it.”
Robach questioned why Giudice would want to stay in the spotlight after everything her family has been through. “It’s my life now. It’s what I know,” answered the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star. As for the possibility husband Joe will be deported after he serves his own prison sentence, Giudice said, “We’re just taking one day at a time. I’m just happy to be home.” Check out the video below.
