Ted Williams Goes From Homeless to “Today” with Golden Voice (VIDEO)
10:57 am, January 6th, 2011
VIDEOThe story of the homeless man whose golden voice took him from the streets to worldwide fame in 48 hours continues to inspire people everywhere.
Ted Williams, just two days ago a panhandler in Columbus, Ohio, served as the announcer on this morning’s “Today Show” before sitting for a lengthy interview with Matt Lauer and Meredith Vieira.
A former radio professional derailed by drug abuse and alcoholism, Williams impressed a passing Columbus Dispatch reporter earlier this week with his vocal talents. Their subsequent video went viral – so viral, in fact, that Williams was offered numerous jobs (and a mortgage!) within hours.
Two days later, he was in midtown Manhattan, dazzling the “Today” hosts and continuing to charm viewers.
It’s REALLY worth a look.
