Taylor Swift Wins Album Of The Year At 2016 Grammys – Watch Video!
Taylor Swift won Album of the Year for 1989 at the 2016 Grammys on Monday night. Watch the singer’s acceptance speech in the video below!
She began by saying, “I wanna thank the fans for the last 10 years, and the Recording Academy for giving us this unbelievable honor.” Swift added, “As the first woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to all the young women out there — there are going to be people along the way will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame. But if you just focus on the work and don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you’re going, you will look around and you will know that it was you and the people who loved you who put you there, and that will be the greatest feeling in the world.”
As Gossip Cop reported, Swift was nominated for seven awards for the 58th annual Grammy Awards. She won two during the Premiere Ceremony: Best Pop Vocal Album for 1989 and Best Music Video for “Bad Blood.” During the main event, she opened up the broadcast with “Out Of The Woods.”
This now marks the second time Swift has won Album Of The Year. She first took home the Grammys’ top prize in 2010 for her debut record Fearless. At the time, Swift became the youngest ever to win the honor. Swift was also nominated for Album Of The Year in 2014. As Gossip Cop reported at the time, the superstar initially thought she won, but what was thought to be an announcement for Red ended up being for Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories.
No matter, Swift is now officially a two-year Album Of The Year winner, something most music stars absolutely cannot claim. Check out Taylor’s Swift’s acceptance speech here!
