Taylor Swift gave fans a big treat Monday night when she not only revealed the name and cover art of her new album, but also premiered the first single.

In a video webchat on YouTube, the singer announced her next album will be called Red, and showed off the cover image.

The album, which will feature 16 songs and got its name from one of those, will be released October 22.

The first track off the record is called “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” which she described as a “touching and sensitive” song.

“It’s to my lovely ex-boyfriend,” Swift admitted as the song started to play and she joined in for an impromptu sing-along.

Of course, Swift gave no indication as to which ex she was referring to.

The songstress also hinted that she’s been planning a big tour to support the album, that will take her “all over everywhere.”

    I’m really over the ex-boyfriend syndrome. It was cute the first few albums but I hope she isn’t trying to make a career out of it (as in 10 years down the road). She’s too talented of an artist to put album after album out about ex boyfriends. I know it’s a gimmick, but eventually people will grow tired.

Have you ever heard the old expression “IF IT AIN’T BROKE DON’T FIX IT” When people stop buying her music she will retire knowing she had a award winning career.     Was tired of songs like this when she first started coming out, and still am. These songs are okay, but don’t make so many of them. How are you going to grow if you do the same routine?

    I don’t care for her music but then I’m not in the age group that she focuses on. I am most certainly not going to critisize her or her career choices. If anyone on this comment board that is critisizing her music or lifestyle can show us how their life is better or they can in any way compete with her success, please tell us, otherwise just sit back and watch as she goes to the bank.

    I think stats show most women her age dates about 3 to4 men a year and gets serious with about 2. So she dates about the same as most 22yo. If your twice her age and you have had less dates I wonder who has a problem. If you don’t like her music don’t listen just turn to another station. That’s why there are so meny radio stations. There are people I don’t like but I don’t seek out news articles to make. Coments about them its beneath me.
