Taylor Swift Freaks Out After Steve Carell Sings “Shake It Off,” Reveals He’s Huge Fan — WATCH VIDEO HERE!
The actor revealed his secret adoration for Swift during an appearance on “Popcorn With Peter Travers,” the ABC web series with Rolling Stone film critic Travers. Carell was on to promote his movie Foxcatcher, for which he’s earnings serious Oscar buzz, and Travers said he was wondering what was going on in Carell’s head.
The former “Office” star replied by singing, “And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate. And the players gonna play, play, play, play, play. Baby, I’m gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake. Shake it off, shake it off.” Travers cracked up and admitted that was the “last thing” he expected to hear.
Carell, however, confessed, “I love it. I actually love Taylor Swift. I think she’s great.” Swift was overwhelmed when she found out about his admiration. She wrote on Twitter, “RHNJHGHDFVHJOIYTDFBJJN. I’m fine.” And that actually wasn’t the pop star’s only freak out this week. After Jesse Tyler Ferguson tweeted “You guys, I think I’m obsessed with Taylor Swift,” the singer replied, “@jessetyler I was so excited about your tweet that I called my mom and also did a reading of it for the cats. Please still like me.” Thankfully, the “Modern Family” star wrote back, “this only makes me love you more.”
Carell is also not the only celebrity to reveal he’s a big “Shake It Off” fan. In recent weeks, Kendrick Lamar also confessed his love of the catchy track, and sang a few bars during an interview, while Kelly Clarkson covered the song during a concert. Check out the video of Carell below!
