Taylor Swifts squad did not unfollow Demi Lovato after she posed for a selfie with Hailey Baldwin, despite a fabricated report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this inaccurate claim. There’s absolutely zero truth to it.

According to Perez Hilton, Swift’s squad, including Selena Gomez, Karlie Kloss, Gigi Hadid, Lily Aldridge, and members of Haim “all unfollowed Demi Lovato after she posted a selfie with Hailey Baldwin at the Met Gala!” The reason? The bad blogger claims it all stems from “Baldwin’s on-and-off relationship with Selena’s ex Justin Bieber.” After writing in his pre-teen vernacular that this is “some major dramz,” Perez adds, “We really think there’s gotta be more to the story!”

Actually, there’s a lot more to the story, except the ill-informed blogger never bothered to fact-check. Instead, he lazily took his information from the specious Twitter account “Shady Music Facts,” which Gossip Cop has busted a handful of times for making up stories, especially those related to Bieber. As we have noted before, some of the reports from that Twitter account seem more “shady” and less rooted in “facts.”

In any case, the whole story is wrong. No one seems to have unfollowed Lovato because of the selfie. If they’re not followers of her now, it’s because they never were, even before the selfie. But the real proof that the entire post that Perez printed is bogus is that Taylor Swift herself follows Lovato on Twitter. Whoops.

Of course, Perez has a rich history of getting stories wrong about Swift and Lovato, as chronicled by a slew of Gossip Cop busts. We corrected the bad blogger when he wrongly romantically linked Swift, at different to times, to Ed Sheeran, Matthew Gray Gubler, and Alexander Skarsgard. Gossip Cop also slammed Perez when he falsely spread a harmful and inaccurate rumor that Lovato was again “abusing drugs” and may be “going back to rehab.” Much like those completely untrue tales, his latest piece about Swift’s squad unfollowing Lovato is also entirely fictitious.
