Taylor Swift NOT Taking Social Media Break Because Of “Bullies,” Despite Report
Taylor Swift is NOT taking a break from social media because of “bullies,” despite a made-up report. Gossip Cop can debunk this claim.
“Taylor Swift ‘Loving Her Break From Social Media,’ She’s ‘Detoxing From Bullies,'” reads a headline from the repeatedly discredited HollywoodLife, which goes on to claim it has attained “exclusive” information about the singer’s social media break. A so-called “source” is quoted as saying, “She enjoys being connected with her fans but she also struggles with the negativity and bullies that she deals with whenever she reads Instagram comments.” The outlet’s supposed insider further purports, “She will be back… but for now she is really appreciating detoxing and being unplugged from some of the negative energy online.”
While it’s true Swift is the subject of negative online comments, like many other famous stars, and hasn’t been active on social media recently, HollywoodLies, as it’s known, doesn’t seem to have really reputable sources for the singer. The webloid has been caught before making up stories and quotations, and it appears to be doing the same here. Whatever the reason, Swift is not taking a social media break because of “bullies.” The outlet is simply trying to dupe its readers into believing it has “exclusive” content. Sources connected to the singer say a more likely reason for her absence on social media is that she has nothing to promote right now.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Gossip Cop has called out the webloid for falsely claiming it has an “exclusive” story about the Swift. In 2016, we exposed the site for manufacturing a report that wrongly alleged Swift was secretly engaged to Calvin Harris. Gossip Cop also caught HollywoodLife making up a slew of Drake and Swift stories that untruthfully maintained they were dating. Much like those bogus articles, which appeared ti be nothing more than speculation with seemingly fake quotes, this latest report about Swift being off social media because of “bullies” is equally unfounded.
