VIDEO: “Shake It Off” Flash Mob Dance Has Taylor Swift “Hyperventilating With Joy”
Taylor Swift has already inspired at least one “Shake It Off” flash mob. The Dimensions Dance Company invaded a Raising Cane’s restaurant in Lewisville, Texas, this week, surprising guests with a choreographed performance set to Swift’s new track. Check out the video below!
Swift herself was sent the video and loved it. “I’m hyperventilating with joy,” she tweeted. “Thank you, Dimensions Dance.”
As Gossip Cop reported, Swift released “Shake It Off” just a few days ago. It’s the first single from her upcoming album 1989, which will drop in November.
The song has an infectious “sick beat” (as Swift herself says in the lyrics) that is already earning it radio airplay and, now, apparently, incredibly choreographed dance routines.
“Shake It Off,” however,” already has earned from critics. As Gossip Cop also reported, Earl Sweatshirt blasted Swift for “perpetuating black stereotypes” in the music video with some of the dance movies Swift and her backup dancers perform. The rapper called the video “inherently offensive and ultimately harmful,” although he admitted to not actually watching the full clip.
Regardless, the dancers in this new video seem to be having a blast. It’s hard to watch without getting a smile on your face, and we can’t find anything offensive about it.
