Taylor Swift to Play Joni Mitchell?

Taylor Swift might play another singer-songwriter — Joni Mitchell — on the big screen.

A film adaptation of Sheila Weller’s book “Girls Like Us” is in development, and Swift is circling the part of Mitchell, Gossip Cop confirms.

“She’s looking for the right role, and this could be it,” a source close to the singer tells us, although it’s important to note that the project has not been greenlit yet.

The book also explores the lives of Carly Simon and Carole King, although no actresses are attached to either role at this point.

If Swift winds up in the project, it would mark her first major dramatic turn.

She previously appeared in romantic comedy Valentine’s Day and lent her voice to The Lorax.
