Taylor Swift is not “hiding in shame” following her high-profile breakups from Tom Hiddleston and Calvin Harris, despite a bogus new tabloid report alleging the singer is shunning both the public and her friends. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this story.

A phony article in the latest issue of the National Enquirer claims the singer is distraught over the bad publicity brought on by her past relationships, and so she’s now gone into a “self-imposed exile.” A questionable source tells the magazine that Swift’s pals Gigi Hadid and Karlie Kloss have been trying to get in touch with her, but the pop star “hasn’t returned texts or emails.” The tabloid’s seemingly made-up insider further purports that the two supermodels “want to look Taylor in the eye and ask why she’s being so standoffish,” but the singer won’t respond and it’s “gotten weird.” “Everyone knows she’s embarrassed and licking her wounds,” adds the publication’s dubious source.

But Gossip Cop looked into the story, and reliable sources close to both Hadid and Kloss tell us their friend hasn’t gone into hiding, and the tabloid’s entire account of events is “ridiculously false.” We also reached out to a rep for Swift, but are waiting to hear back.

Actually, Swift posted a YouTube video in February in which she and Hadid sang along to her song, “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever,” while hearing it on the radio for the first time. This friendly interaction happened well after the singer’s splits from her ex-boyfriends. So basically, the publication’s claim doesn’t hold up.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Gossip Cop has had to call out the Enquirer for publishing fake news about the singer and her exes. We previously busted the magazine for falsely alleging Swift sent “thank you” notes to Hiddleston and Harris because they inspired her to write new music. We also debunked the outlet’s tall tale about Swift drunk dialing Harris following their split. Once again, the tabloid has proven itself to be unreliable when it comes to accurately reporting about the singer.
