Taylor Swift Leads 60,000 Fans In “Happy Birthday” For Shawn Mendes, Sings “Trap Queen” With Fetty Wap (VIDEO)
Taylor Swift made her opening act Shawn Mendes’ birthday even more special on Saturday night. Well after the 17-year-old singer had finished his set, Swift called the young musician back onto the stage and lead her 60,000 fans at CenturyLink Field in Seattle in singing “Happy Birthday” to Mendes (video below).
An appreciative Mendes, who was discovered after posting short covers of songs on Vine, later tweeted, “Coolest birthday ever. Taylor brought me up on stage and had a crowd of 60 thousand people sing happy birthday to me. So lucky to be on tour with someone so incredibly kind. You rock Taylor. Thank you so much!”
But that was hardly the only surprise at Swift’s concert. She also brought out on stage Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and his girlfriend Ciara. And, as has become custom, Swift also had a surprise musical guest. This time it was Fetty Wap. The two sang his hit “Trap Queen.” Following her show, Swift tweeted, “@fettywap thank you so much for coming!! Unreal!!” and “No big deal just the happiest moment of my life to date @fettywap.”
