Taylor Swift Grammys Commercial Uses Grammy Awards Acceptance Speech (VIDEO)
Taylor Swift’s 2016 Grammys acceptance speech is used in a powerful new commercial for the 2017 Grammy Awards. Watch below!
As Gossip Cop reported at the time, last year Swift won Album of the Year for 1989. The milestone came amidst the superstar’s renewed feud with Kanye West over his song “Famous,” and the lyrics, “I made that bitch famous.” The dispute led Swift to make a very pointed speech.
“I want to say to all the young women out there: There are going to be people along the way who try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame,” Swift said. “But if you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you’re going, you will look around and you will know it was you and the people who loved you who put you there, and that will be the greatest feeling in the world.”
Now those very same words are used in a Grammys promo unveiled on Tuesday. In the clip, little girls repeat Swift’s inspiring speech line by line, with the songstress herself only appearing at the very end. In a description of the commercial, the Recording Academy says, “Young women from all walks of life take a powerful Grammys acceptance speech by Taylor Swift and make it their own mantra of inspiration, hard work and hope.” Check it out below.
