Taylor Swift officially finished her “1989 World Tour” on Saturday.
As Gossip Cop has reported, Swift’s global trek began in Tokyo in early May. She then came to North America, followed by a leg in Europe. She returned to North America in July for even more dates, and then went back to Asia.
Swift’s final string of concerts began in Australia on November 28. The tour now ended with three back-to-back nights at AAMI Park in Melbourne. Before taking the stage for the final time, the superstar wrote on Instagram, “Melbourne, the first two nights with you have been magical. Tonight we play this show for the very last time. I’m so honored I get to share the last night of the 1989 World Tour with all of you. This has been the most incredible adventure. Thank you for all of it.”
After the show came to a close, she posted on both Instagram and Twitter, “Farewell, 1989 World Tour.” Along with a broken heart emoji, Swift included a photo of herself in the middle of a group hug with her backup dancers (see above and below). The singer further tweeted, “The 1989 World Tour is officially over, the most beautiful chapter in our story so far.. Thanks to you.”
In the hours before, fans had their own bittersweet celebration with the Twitter trend “#1989WorldTourMemories.” Thousands of Swifties shared their favorite moments from the past seven months. For many that included the dozens of celebrity guests Swift brought on stage at the different stops.
And with 85 concerts total, Swift had the best-selling tour of 2015, according to StubHub. TELL US: Did you go to any of the “1989 World Tour” shows?
