Site Twists Taylor Swift Interview Into Slam on Miley Cyrus (VIDEO)

Truth rating: 0

(HollywoodLife)

Once again, HollywoodLife tries to start a feud and just embarrasses itself.

The site, which would rather create controversy than cover actual news, wants to inflame some kind of Taylor Swift-Miley Cyrus war, and uses a clip of Swift’s appearance on “60 Minutes” to do so.

And… it’s absolutely ridiculous.

In the footage, Swift talks about being a role model, and how she’s “conscious” of the responsibility she has to the millions of young people who hear her lyrics and look up to her.

Perfectly reasonable, perfectly benign.

But HollywoodLife sees it as a direct attack on Cyrus.

Swift “totally disses” Cyrus, who is “NOT going to be happy” about the comments, says the site.

Um… what?

According to HollywoodLife, Swift “comes out clearly slamming Miley’s comments about NOT wanting to be a role model.”

Are we missing something?

Well, HollywoodLife is referring to quotes that Cyrus gave to Harper’s Bazaar about the topic – nearly two years ago.

At the time, Cyrus said, “My job isn’t to tell your kids how to act or how not to act because I’m still figuring that out for myself.”

Only HollywoodLife, panting for any sort of conflict between the two star singers, would think Swift’s “60 Minutes” results were “clearly slamming” Cyrus’ February 2010 magazine interview.

In short, the outlet’s declaration that Swift “totally disses” Cyrus is totally bogus, totally ridiculous and totally lame.

The full Swift interview airs on “60 Minutes” on Sunday.

We can’t wait to see how HollywoodLife twists the rest of it.

I thought it was a direct dig at Miley also because of the words she used,as Miley has used those words saying its not her job to raise your kids

What’s Taylor Swift doing on 60 Minutes? Shouldn’t they be covering something more important?

  • Amy

Is it just me or does Taylor looks more and more like a chipmunk every day? I like her personality though.

No, Amy, that pic of her is very weird, almost like they are ‘AIRBRUSHING her to LOOK BAD! Her chin is disappearing and her face is getting rounder… and that color on her is not natural, too much red in tone. As for the ‘story’, why would she have to diss Cyrus? Cyrus has not been in the gossip news lately,Hannah .. got, out of site out of mind thing.

whether it was a direct dig at Miley or not, what does it matter? Miley was 16 when she said that – Taylor is almost 22. They’re at completely different places in their lives and careers. Miley started acting when she was about 13 and had to go through her teen years under the careful eye of the paparazzi – she had no room to mess up and learn from the experience without it being reported. Taylor, one the other hand, was 17 when she started climbing the charts – a much older and more mature place to think about one’s career.

Personally, I agree with both. I’m glad that Taylor realizes the impact of her music and takes the responsibility seriously, but I don’t believe that it’s truly an artist’s job to raise a generation.

Taylor Swift songs seem to be different verses of a common theme. She has a nice voice and the lyrics has charm but they are all the same. Taylor Swift may not be setting a good example if she can’t hold a guy for more than a few weeks at a time. Miley Cyrus has no trouble getting guys and holding them if that’s what she wants. Her music has more depth. The range covers a wide spectrum and she has written songs covering many topics. Miley is a much better singer and performer. How are kids going to relate to Taylor Swift if she’s perfect? It’s not normal. It’s weird. Kind of boring if you ask me. Miley Cyrus’s approach to her sexuality is honest and refreshing. Miley can relate to kids better. Taylor has more in common with a porcelain doll than any of the kids.
