Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran “Hotel Night” Sensationalized By Flip-Flopping E!
8:42 pm, February 28th, 2013
“Taylor Swift, be careful. Ed Sheeran might turn those tables and write a song about you!” begins a sensationalized story from E! Online, which claims the two stars spent the “night together at [a] London hotel.”
According to the site’s “witness,” Sheeran went to Swift’s hotel the night before the Brit Awards, and the pair “stayed in the room, just the two of them, until around 4 a.m.”
But that’s not all.
When Sheeran finally emerged again, he allegedly looked “very happy” and “pleased with himself,” before supposedly leaving the hotel in Swift’s car.
Ooh, sounds scandalous!

It’s also totally overblown, which is why E! Online changed their story hours later, taking out all the inaccurate salacious details (see screengrabs below).
So, what’s left?
Well, basically this: Swift and Sheeran, longtime pals who are heading out on tour together this fall, hung out before an awards show in his hometown.
That’s it.
Of course, that didn’t stop the likes of HollywoodLife and Perez Hilton from running the sensationalized story, and going on to speculate that Swift and Sheeran might be dating.
They are friends.
Period.
