Taylor Swift Did NOT Dump Calvin Harris, Despite Report
Taylor Swift has not “dumped” Calvin Harris nor was he caught doing anything inappropriate at a massage parlor, despite an inaccurate and racist report. In fact, Swift’s own rep says the claim about the couple splitting is completely untrue.
According to RadarOnline, Swift and Harris broke up or had, what the outlet termed, an “un-happy ending” after the DJ had a “Thai massage parlor visit.” Before Gossip Cop goes on to show why the split aspect of the story is wrong, let’s examine what the webloid is alleging. Basically, the site is saying that if one gets a massage from a Thai parlor, they must be getting what’s known as a “happy ending.” Not all Thai parlors engage in that activity, and RadarOnline is wrongly slurring many hardworking and law-abiding people from Thailand.
The webloid then fills out its piece with seemingly made-up quotes from unnamed sources, who somehow magically heard private conversations between Swift and Harris. The site claims Swift yelled at Harris for going to a Thai parlor, and the DJ responding with “some bull[expletive] excuse that his masseuse was sick and he needed his shoulder worked on.”
Of course, not only are the supposed quotes fabricated, but they also again slur Thais, as well as defy logic. As RadarOnline itself notes, Harris has a “net worth of more than $110 million,” which makes it even more inconceivable that he would have to go out publicly to engage in alleged illicit activity.
But we digress. The overriding point is Swift and Harris have not broken up. The singer’s rep even tweeted, “I’ve said it before and I’m saying it again, do not believe Radar Online.”
Actually, Gossip Cop has had ample reason in the past not to trust the webloid. In the last six weeks, we busted the site for making up a wholly fictitious story about “intimate” photos of Swift and Harris being shopped, as well as a fake report about Swift dissing Miley Cyrus at a post-VMAs party in her home. There are no “intimate” photos, and Swift did not have a VMAs bash at her house. In the past,Gossip Cop also corrected the webloid when it manufactured a tale about Swift pursuing Bradley Cooper, a claim the actor himself since called “horse[expletive].”
