Taylor Swift CMA Awards Video 2016: Presents CMAs Entertainer Of The Year To Garth Brooks – WATCH!
Taylor Swift made a surprise appearance at Wednesday’s 2016 CMA Awards to present Entertainer of the Year to Garth Brooks. Watch below!
This was the first time Swift has attended the CMAs since 2013. That year, as Gossip Cop reported, Swift received the Pinnacle Award, which is elite recognition from the Country Music Association. At the time, she was only the second person to ever earn the honor, following Garth Brooks.
Also at the 2013 CMAs, Swift won the International Artist Achievement Award, and shared Music Video and Music Event of the Year with her “Highway Don’t Care” collaborators, Keith Urban and Tim McGraw. That brought Swift’s number of CMA Awards won to 11 with 25 nominations. Her wins have included the Horizon Award (now called New Artist of the Year) in 2007, as well as Entertainer of the Year in 2009 and 2011.
In 2014, Swift was nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year, which she previously won in 2009, but did not go to the ceremony, where Miranda Lambert was named the winner. Of course, 2014 is also the same year Swift officially crossed over into pop music with her record-breaking album, 1989. The songstress is believed to be working on a new record, but its genre is unknown.
Still, Swift hasn’t left her country music roots behind. Little Big Town just revealed on Tuesday that she’s the songwriter behind “Better Man,” the lead single off the group’s upcoming album. After the news broke, Swift posted on Instagram, “Feeling really honored that a band I’ve loved for so many years decided to record this song I wrote. Good luck at #cmaawards @littlebigtown!! Love you guys.”
Little Big Town performed the song earlier in the ceremony, and went on to win Vocal Group of the Year. Swift was also featured in a pre-taped tribute to tonight’s new Pinnacle Award recipient, Kenny Chesney. Check out full video of Swift’s CMA Awards appearance below!
