Taylor Swift is NOT buying a Scottish castle near her boyfriend Calvin Harris’ family, despite a widely spread report. The claim is not true.

The bogus story surfaced online earlier this week, and was naturally picked up by a number of outlets, including the Daily Mail. According to the report, Swift was “eyeing” the Tower of Lethendy, a 16th century Scottish castle about an hour away from where Harris’ family lives in Edinburgh. The rumor also said the pop star was going to shell out millions of dollars for the eight-bedroom castle.

One way Gossip Cop knew the story was untrue was because reports noted she wanted a place in the UK. But Swift already has a London home.

Regardless Swift herself shut down the rumor by tweeting lyrics to her song “New Romantics,” a bonus track from her 1989 album. She tweeted, “Cause baby I could build a castle out of all the bricks they threw at me,” adding, “But I’m not actually buying a castle.”

It should be noted that Gossip Cop has busted several stories in the past falsely claiming Swift was buying houses to be closer to her boyfriends. It also should come as no surprise that the Daily Mail printed this latest inaccurate Swift story. Gossip Cop busted the tabloid last year when it wrongly reported Swift and Harry Styles were “rekindling their old romance.”
