Taylor Momsen: I’ve “Quit Acting”

Taylor Momsen left “Gossip Girl” in November, and now the young star says she’s “quit acting” altogether to focus on her music career.

In a new interview with Elle magazine’s website, the Pretty Reckless singer reveals, “I quit acting. I quit ‘Gossip Girl’ and now tour and am in a band and that’s pretty much all I want to do.”

“Hopefully I’ll be able to only do that for the rest of my life,” Momsen added.

Momsen, who played Jenny Humphrey on the CW series, took an “indefinite hiatus” from the show in November. Six months later, the network announced Momsen would not reprise her role on the following season.

The 18-year-old has been in front of the camera since she was just a toddler.

    this girl is so full of herself its not even funny…thank goodness now she can disappear GG will be fine without you as long as we have Leighton. Over this raccoon eyed poser, it would be one thing to like her if she was at least nice but with some of the shit this girl has said, I have no respect for her. Even when I was that age, I knew better than to say half the shit she has said, I’ll never get over that Haiti comment she made what a pig.

    Never watched that show , don’t really care for that girl anyway . Maybe she’ll fall into obscurity , that look she has is so dated ! Not sure if she has any talent anyway .. Good luck to her !!

    I don’t know much about what she says because I don’t really read about her, but I respect her as a musician and as an actress. I don’t think it’s a very smart decision to quit acting, she doesn’t have to do it all the time but it’d be nice to do once in awhile. I do enjoy her music and think that it doesn’t matter how she dresses, it’s an image and it fits well with her and her music. Sexuality is also a form of expression in artistry and she’s not really doing many huge dirty things in her videos anyway. Wish her luck!
