Taylor Lautner on Potential Twilight Jacob Spinoff: I’d “Have to Consider It” (LISTEN)

Taylor Lautner is promoting The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, but is there a chance this isn’t the end for his character Jacob Black?

The actor called into Ryan Seacrest’s radio show on Monday, and the host asked Lautner about rumors that the franchise could evolve with a spinoff featuring Lautner’s werewolf.

“I honestly know as much as you do,” replied the star. “I haven’t heard anything. The only thing that I’ve heard is whatever’s online and people are talking about.”

When Seacrest asked whether a spinoff would be something Lautner would want to do, the actor sounded enthusiastic about the idea.

“I love this franchise and this character and everybody involved so much, I absolutely would have to consider it,” said Lautner.

Seacrest also arranged for Lautner to speak with a young Twilight fan who was VERY happy to talk to him.

    A Jacob sequel will be a huge flop, he can’t carry a movie.

    Not sure how this turned into a Rob and Kristen story in the comments? But, I love the Twilight movies and especially Rob. I hope he and Kristen can make it work. Not sure i would want to see a Taylor Twilight spin off… just sayin… just my opinion.

    I like Taylor since he seems like a sweet guy and he’s quite easy on the eyes. However, a spinoff would just totally bomb since the series is successful as it is because of Rob and Kristen. In my opinion, Taylor really needs to work his acting skills before taking any big lead roles (I watched one clip from Abduction and kept cringing through it). One young actor who has done this well (again, in my opinion) is Zac Efron since he could have cruised on his fame from HSM but instead he sought out different directors to work with, has had many supporting roles in order to learn from those around him and he challenges himself by choosing a variety of roles. Taylor should do something like this in order for people to take him seriously.
