Taylor can’t act and his selection of movies are slim unlike Rob and Kristen. Abduction was a disaster and he lost the lead in Stretch Armstrong. He’s learning having a six pac is no big deal in Hollywood…really needs to lose that arrogant attitude too.

I’m a fan of Taylor’s but i agree his acting definitely needs some work. I wholeheartedly disagree with this role for him. He has lost or “dropped out” of a lot of roles he was attached to and i’m afraid his mediocre performance in the badly directed and worse scripted Abduction has taken it’s toll on his career. Taylor needs to focus on improving his skills with an acting coach and wait for the right role – a low budget, independent flick where he is not a lead – he just isn’t ready. Plus, he doesn’t need another box office bomb under his belt. Teaming with a bunch of has-been comedians is the wrong move. Like someone mentioned earlier, Sandler took every Razzie for his mind-numbingly bad performance in Jack & Jill. Taylor’s management needs an overhaul, they can’t steer their clients career in the right path – i say ditch them!

I don’t know who manages the career of Taylor, but I think it should not really take care of that. Abduction was a flop, ok. But not the flop of the year either. Like Evermine I think Taylor is not a bad actor, he’s just not ready for a starring role. Taylor has an Huge potential to explore, and it is true that working with the man with 10 Razzie is not a good idea after abduction. But Taylor is young, and sometimes some error of course rely on the right path. Maybe Taylor will surprise in this film. Don’t be so negative!

Or perhaps he’s financially set for the rest of his life and now he just wants roles that he likes and wants to have fun with. There is a lot of hate on this site people need to relax. I actually love Adam Sandler movies and Adam Sandler, and I also love Taylor Lautner so I think its perfect to be honest. I know its gonna be a great and funny movie like all Adam Sandler movies are. Everyone that are dissing Taylor and Adam Sandler, screw you. The Taylor haters are just a bunch of jealous idiots and need to get over themselves.Taylor is a great actor. As for Adam Sandler, he’s an awesome comedian and actor, he’s won so many awards since he’s been acting and you seriously cannot say that none of his movies havent made you laugh. I love Taylor Lautner and I love Adam Sandler so that settles it, its going to be a great movie :)

I am disgusted with all of the people that bash Taylor!! He is 20 yrs old and just starting out!! Abduction was not a bad movie. I feel sorry for him!! If he has to do this movie to keep his name out there thats fine!! I will be going to see it. Rob got VERY lucky that he was cast in “Water for Elephants” with Reese and this is what made him get roles. Reese is AMAZING!!! He’s not a great actor and Kristen is not a great actress. In Breaking Dawn, Taylor was actually the best actor in the whole movie. Co-stars are another problem in Taylor’s movies. These new and upcoming actresses around his age are no good. Lily Collins? Taylor Swift? No thank you!! I understand that Swift is a singer and not an actress but she acted like a jack hole in Valentines Day. Lily Collins in Abduction was hard to watch and Taylor got all the crap for that and she was not blamed. Every actor including the greats has done a horrible movie in their lives. Let him grow as an actor and stop hating on him. I feel sorry for him!!! He is a person just like the rest of us.

I think that the problem with this industry is that commercial movies with big budgets and unbearable publicity are supposed to be blockbuster movies and measure sb’s acting skills. How come? Usually one can switch his/her brain off while watching them. Smaller movies are much more challenging and engage the actors more. Just look at how many great actors and actresses choose to do smaller but better movies (in terms of scripts, directors,etc). These are more demanding on their acting workshop , I guess. Lautner needs to change his agent or sth. I like Pattinson’s choices more, because he chooses to work with better (or the best) people in the industry (Cronenberg, Cooper, Scott-Thomas) even if it doesn’t bring a lot of money. He expressed his eagerness to learn from them and act instead of CGI doing it all for him. I don’t care if his films make lots of money or not, as long as they are good reference material for other directors, he will be getting new roles. Action movies and comedies like this one will never let Lautner develop his skills.The sooner he realizes it, the better for him.He still has time, perhaps.

I was with you until you said that Kristen’s other movies were horrible. Obviously you have never seen any of her movies besides Twilight and Panic Room. She got excellent reviews from critics in Into the Wild, Speak, The Runaways, Welcome to the Rileys, The Cake Eaters, and The Yellow Hankerchief. She has won many acting awards including Best Young Artist (before Twilight), Best Actress in the Milan International Film Festival and the Independent Spirit Awards, and won a BAFTA. Try actually watching some of her other films.

Actually most (if not all critics) slam Taylor for his performance in the twilight films and say that Kristen was the only thing making the films bearable.

The only film that Taylor has done outside of the twilight series was Abduction, and unfortunately it got slammed by critics. While he isn’t great in twilight we can’t really say anything bad about his acting until we see more of his post twilight films. Hopefully he makes the best career choices and picks some good scripts.

Unfortunetly some people are basing their opinions of him on his performance in Twilight only. He wasn’t that great in Abduction but we need to see more of him before we start making judgement. The Twilight films were very poorly written. If even made Kristen Stewart look bad and she has had load of great roles where she was fantastic. Rob is about 50/50. He gets good reviews in some films and bad reviews in the others. I was really looking forward to Bel Ami but the critics are trashing it. I think e will do better in Cosmopolis. I don’t think that teaming up with Sandler (especially for a sequel to a film that bombed) is the best career move but what can you do?

Kristen Stewart is an average actress in my opinion. She will never be as good as the actresses I grew up with like Reese Witherspoon and Julia Roberts. I can’t tell the difference in her characters from one movie to the next. No emotion just blank stares and memorized lines in all her movies. She did OK in the Runaways. That was the only movie she was in that I didn’t think that it was just “Kristen” reading some lines. And I’ve seen all of them!! I’m not saying Taylor doesn’t need acting improvement…he does but Kristen and Rob do also. I thought Taylor showed alot of emotion in Breaking Dawn. Rob showed nothing and Kristen’s CGI that made her look horrible “helped” her acting. It just upsets me when people pick on Taylor. He’s got a long road ahead of him and will improve with more roles. And I am not bashing Kristen and Rob. I like both of them and will continue to watch their films. I’m just tired of the harshness towards Taylor. He’s still a kid and people expect him to be as amazing as Matt Damon right now.

I sincerely doubt that you have seen every single one of Kristen’s movies. Generally if I don’t like someone’s performance in a few films I don’t sit around and watch all the others. You won’t find many people who would do that. Kristen got excellent reviews in The Runaways. She played Joan Jett so well that Joan’s family said it was like watching her when she was younger. Her performances in the The Runaways, The Yellow Hanckerchief, Welcome to the Rileys, Speak, and The Cake Eaters couldn’t have been more different from eachother. The whole theory of her not showing emotion has been proven wrong many times already. Try watching The Runaways and then watch The Cake Eaters. Two completely different movies. Way different expressions. Way different acting. Then watch her other movies. Her acting and role in each film is different from the last. Ever wonder why she gets such good reviews from critics? Because they actually watch her other movies instead of pretending they do. I don’t think she is the best actress out there but she certainly has got great talent. She wouldn’t keep getting great roles if she was horrible. Fame or no fame. Taylor is the perfect example of that. He’s famous and in a hit series but isn’t getting tons of roles. Hopefully that will change.

Twilight draws a lot of hate but Rob, Kristen, and Taylor are each playing Edward, Bella, and Jacob exactly like they are portrayed in the books. That’s not their faults. Their characters just aren’t any good. But Kristen has always gotten great reviews in every movie we does. Rob usually gets great reviews but Bel Ami is falling flat. Taylor had only one recent film outside Twilight and it got horrible critical reviews. We just need to see him in some more movies. Abduction wasn’t the best and Lily Collins got horrible reviews as well. The media just focused more on Taylor because he is more famous than Lily.

I don’t care about what the critics say or about your obsession with Kstew. I don’t just dislike someones acting in one movie and ban myself from watching the others just because they sucked in others. If I think I might like a movie I watch it. I watch Kristen’s movies and HAVE seen all of them because I like her. I don’t have to love her acting and all of the movies shes in. Like I said before I am a Reese fan and didnt care for her legally blonde movies but didn’t ban myself from her movies because of a few bad ones…same thing with Kristen. End of story…I wish Taylor the best in his future projects!!

I agree with you 100%, Olivia. I like ALL of the Twilight actors. I agree that this is not the best career move but I feel there are times when you need to take what you can get and hope for better roles in the future. If I was in his situation and had NOTHING lined up I would take the Adam Sandler movie. I know his fans are upset about this but he will have to prove himself and work his way up. If he can’t then this is not the career for him. I just feel he needs to be given more time/experience before everyone writes him off.

I’ve seen two of her non twilight films (The Runaways and Welcome to the Rileys) and she blew my mind away. She was so different from Bella Swan in those films it was crazy. Adam Sandler’s movie Grown ups made over $270 million worldwide. That sure as hell is not a flop and part 2 with Taylor could make even more.

Another pattern in Taylor Lautner’s career trajectory is that he hooks up with his female co-stars (Swifty and Collins). They alleged he’s messed with Kirsten Stewart but nothing has come of it. Selena Gomez was more of a “locationship”; they hooked up on different sets at the same time. I think that’s part of why he’s dismissed as a good actor-he his love life keeps him in the news. Dollar bet if he has a love interest in this movie and she’s gorgeous, that talk is going to start again. He’s suppose to be back with his high school girlfriend Sara Hicks, but she’s also seen as the fling-in-between-starlets. When gossip starts on Lautner and the new leading lady (if there is one); and if he or his rep doesn’t shut it down immediately, the countdown clock will start on Sara once again. Break this pattern along with improving his skills would go a long way for Lautner.
