Taryn Manning NOT Quitting ‘Orange Is The New Black,’ Despite Report
Taryn Manning is NOT quitting “Orange is the New Black,” despite a completely wrong tabloid report. Both the actress and a Netflix spokesperson have denied the claim.
According to In Touch, Manning is leaving the hit series, on which she co-stars as inmate Tiffany “Pennsatucky” Doggett, to focus on her sobriety. A so-called “source” tells the magazine, “Taryn needed to get away from the dark character she was playing… She’s just hoping to live a cleaner, happier life.”
The outlet’s dubious insider goes on to claim that Manning plans on moving from New York, where the show is film, to Los Angeles for a fresh star. “She wants to get rid of the friends who don’t support her sobriety,” adds the publication’s questionable source.
But shortly after the story was published, Manning shot down the tabloid’s claims with an Instagram post saying, “#quit #never ILove my squad! Silly magazines but still love ya! Xoxo.” The actress also added a screenshot that read, “It’s always the ones with the dirty hands pointing the fingers.” In Touch removed the report from its website following Manning’s denial, but the outlet won’t be able to hide its printed version of the bogus story.
