Taraji P. Henson Apologizes For Wrongly Accusing Police Of Racially Profiling Son
Taraji P. Henson is now apologizing to the police for saying her son Marcel Johnson had been “racially profiled” in Glendale, California after dash cam footage emerged, showing that the cop who pulled over her son’s car was nothing less than courteous and polite. As Gossip Cop previously reported, the “Empire” star had recently told a magazine that Johnson was profiled, even though he “did exactly everything the cops told him to do, including letting them illegally search his car.”
But after video was released on Friday that showed a police officer pulling over the 20-year-old for failing to yield at a crosswalk, it was clear the cop was extremely professional, even thanking Johnson for honestly admitting that he had “weed” in his car, before searching the vehicle. Now Henson is saying she’s sorry for having “overreacted” as a mom.
In a note she posted to Instagram (below), Henson wrote, “I would like to publicly apologize to the officer and the Glendale Police Department. A mother’s job is not easy and neither is a police officer’s.” She added, “Sometimes as humans WE over react without gathering all of the facts. As a mother in this case I overreacted and for that I apologize.” In a complete turnaround, Henson concluded, “Thank you to that officer for being kind to my son.” What do you think of Henson’s apology?
