The good people at MediaTakeOut mean well.

It’s just that sometimes they overlook tiny details — like, um, bothering to actually look at what they post.

Their most recent adventure in alternate realities may be their “finest” work yet.

The item’s headline says it all: MTO believes it caught “big dummy” Toni Braxton shopping at Gucci and carrying a $15,000 Birkin handbag — even though she owes the IRS hundreds of thousands of dollars.

“Wasn’t it just the other day that Toni was CRYING broke. Getting her house FORECLOSED and claiming she ain’t have enough money to pay her back taxes,” scolds the site.

It truly is a GOTCHA! moment.

Just not for the reason MTO thinks.

Because, um, how do we put this delicately?

The woman in the photographs is not Toni Braxton.

It’s her sister, Tamar Herbert Braxton.

Yup.

MediaTakeOut cackles about what a “big dummy” Toni Braxton is, uses photographs to “bust” her… and IT ISN’T HER.

Gossip Cop has to admit, the spectacularly “dumb” ways MediaTakeOut gets stuff wrong is pretty genius.
