Tamar Davis gave a stunning performance of “Lay Me Down” during the “Knockout” round on “The Voice” on Tuesday. Check out the video below!

As Gossip Cop reported, Davis shined two weeks ago when she and Shalyah Fearing went toe-to-toe with “Lady Marmalade” during the “Battles.” Now the Team Christina artist prepared a different, but no less breathtaking, kind of performance for Sam Smith’s “Lay Me Down.” During rehearsal with key adviser Miley Cyrus, the pop star was impressed with Davis’ first run-through, but Aguilera urged the background singer to show more confidence.

The aspiring star took the advice to heart and went on to slay it like the stage belonged to her. Meanwhile, Davis’ team mate and “Knockout” opponent Maya Smith, who Aguilera had stolen during the “Battle” round, gave a strong performance of “No One” by incoming “Voice” coach Alicia Keys, earning a standing ovation from her former coach Pharrell. On the other hand, Davis got him applauding on his feet, too.

Pharrell told Aguilera afterward, “Your team is just like fireball after fireball. It’s crazy!” He added, “It was like the X-Men up there. I watched two superheroes really show what their voices could do.” For Adam Levine, Davis’ “bonkers” performance “put [her] on the map,” and Blake Shelton said she was “ready for the lives.”

Aguilera ultimately agreed, and gave the win to Davis. “You didn’t just sing that song, you murdered that song,” the coach told her. Overwhelmed by the victory, Davis admitted after, “I never cried so much in my life.” Watch below!
