A day after it was announced that Brooke Mueller would undergo outpatient rehab (at home), following her arrest for cocaine possession, Charlie Sheen’s ex has done an about-face.

In a statement to Gossip Cop, her rep says, “After further reflection and consideration, Brooke has decided to remove herself from the media spotlight and has entered a long-term in-patient treatment center where she can focus on her recovery without distraction,” adding, “She has already arrived at the facility.”

Charlie Sheen is close to reaching a plea deal in his domestic violence case, according to a report.

The actor and the District Attorney’s office in Aspen have been in talks to resolve legal drama that began with Sheen’s alleged attack on wife Brooke Mueller over Christmas. Now the two sides might reach an agreement before their scheduled court appearance on August 2.

UPDATE: 7:25PM -

The judge in Aspen signed an emergency order, allowing Charlie Sheen to have contact with his wife only while she remains in the hospital. However, should Brooke Mueller decide she doesn’t want to communicate with Sheen, he must cease contact immediately. The lawyers will meet with the judge tomorrow to discuss when the protective order hearing will take place since Mueller is still battling pneumonia.

Brooke Mueller was arrested twice in Florida on substance-related charges, criminal history records from the state reveal.

RadarOnline.com reports that Mueller, whose dramatic Christmas Day with husband Charlie Sheen is being investigated, was arrested by Palm Beach police on a DUI on September 13, 1996, and by Miami-Dade police for cocaine possession on March 19, 2001.
