Willie Nelson’s plea deal has gone to pot.
A month ago, Nelson and prosecutors agreed that if the singer pleaded no contest and paid a $500 fine and $280 in court costs, the charges against him — stemming from a pot possession arrest in November — would be reduced to a misdemeanor of possession of drug paraphernalia.
More importantly, the deal meant no jail time for Nelson, whose tour bus was busted in Sierra Blanca, Texas with six ounces of marijuana in it. But the judge is not signing off on deal, and Nelson faces a year in jail.
