The online arm of the celebrity weekly quotes Lachey – a guest on the “Rachael Ray Show” today – as saying, “We’re going to be in Cincinnati with family, and hopefully having a white Christmas… We’re going to be in Tuscany for New Year’s. Who knows, we may be married in Tuscany, too!”, So is Lachey having a New Year’s wedding in Italy?

Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson are “hoping to walk down the aisle this Christmas,” reports HollywoodLife.

According to the site, Simpson is scrambling to have her ceremony before ex-husband Nick Lachey has his.

A so-called “source” claims, “She doesn’t want her wedding to be the aftermath of his. And, it will be big and elaborate. She’ll spare no expensive [sic] for fear that Nick and [Vanessa Minnillo] will out do her.”

There have been whispers ever since Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson announced their engagement that the singer was “rushing to the altar” since ex-husband Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo just revealed that they’re engaged.

But the notion of a “race” between the exes is just not true.

A rep for Simpson tells Gossip Cop the singer and her football player’s engagement was “planned for a very long time.”

A rep for the singer tells Gossip Cop, “Yes, they are engaged.”

“We’re excited and incredibly happy about our engagement and we look forward to a wonderful future together,” the couple said in a statement.

“Jessica Slams Vanessa” declares a headline in the latest Us Weekly, which claims that Jessica Simpson “spew[ed] harsh words about ex Nick Lachey and [his girlfriend, Vanessa Minnillo], during an awkward L.A. run-in.”

The incident Us mentions occurred last Thursday at Red O restaurant in Hollywood. Simpson was dining with boyfriend Eric Johnson and her mother when Lachey and Minnillo arrived at the hotspot.
