Twitter has announced its top “Hot Topics” of 2011, and there a a few surprising entries.
Charlie Sheen was the top-trending actor for the year, and the lateĀ Elizabeth Taylor was #1 among actresses.
Thor led movies, while “Pretty Little Liars” was tops for TV and Rebecca Black was (amazingly) the biggest Twitter trend in music.

“Michelle Obama is pregnant,” proclaims the blog CelebDirtyLaundry, picking up on a rumor floated on Twitter and by the fake news site, WeeklyWorldNews.
According to CelebDirtyLaundry, “The White House announced today that first lady Michelle Obama, 46, is pregnant with her third child. President Barack Obama, 49, her husband is ecstatic!” The rumor is false.

Lady Gaga, Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake, Usher are going to sign off Twitter, Facebook and other social media – all in the name of charity.
The celebs are part of a new campaign called “Digital Life Sacrifice,” which is set to raise money on behalf of Keys’ charity, “Keep a Child Alive.”
On Wednesday, which is World AIDS Day, the stars will leave their millions of fans on various social media platforms, only to return when $1 million is raised.
