There are more indications that The Twilight Saga could continue after Breaking Dawn Part 2, the fifth and (assumed to be) final film in the hit vampire series.

On Friday, Lionsgate executive Rob Friedman said that the studio would develop an additional movie should Twilight author Stephenie Meyer decide to write a fifth book.

“If she wishes to do it, we’ll be there to support her,” THR quotes Friedman as saying during a call with analysts.

As Gossip Cop reported last month, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer also hinted at the studio’s desire for a sixth film following the purchase of Summit Entertainment, the franchise’s home.

The trailer for Breaking Dawn Part 2 will debut with The Hunger Games’ theatrical release in March.

Last month, Breaking Dawn Part 1 passed the $700 million mark globally.

Summit Entertainment has just announced that Breaking Dawn Part 1, the fourth installment in the Twilight Saga, has grossed an estimated $701.3 million globally since the film was released in November.

Breaking Dawn Part 1 , starring Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, is also on its way to becoming the highest grossing film in the series.

The film is just a few million dollars away from passing New Moon, which took in $709.8 million.

Eclipse and Twilight grossed $698.5 million and $390.4, respectively .

Breaking Dawn Part 1 has yet to be released in several countries, including Japan and China.

The film company’s co-chairmen Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger said in a statement: “The milestone is important on several fronts and illustrates the vitality of the franchise on a global scale even after four films.  Stephenie Meyer’s story and characters were brought to the screen this time via the talented hands of Bill Condon along with the cast and crew that has been with the film franchise since its inception.  We are very proud of the success the franchise has experienced and anticipate the saga’s conclusion this November.”

Breaking Dawn Part 1 hits theatees on November 16, 2012.

There’s a chance The Twilight Saga could continue after the fifth film opens in November.

The bombshell was reportedly dropped by Jon Feltheimer, the chief executive officer of Lionsgate Entertainment, which acquired Twilight studio Summit Entertainment for $412.5 million on Friday.

“I’m anticipating Breaking Dawn – Part 2 being $700 million-plus in worldwide box office,” said Feltheimer of the final (planned) installment in the hit vampire franchise.

According to the Los Angeles Times, when asked whether Lionsgate could envision more Twilight past next fall’s fifth film, Feltheimer left the door open.

“It’s hard for me to imagine a movie that does $700 million-plus doesn’t have ongoing value,” he said. “It’s an amazing franchise that they have done a great job of maintaining with absolutely no deterioration.”

He added, “So the simple answer is, ‘Boy, I hope so.’”

It’s not clear whether a potential continuation would involve future films or a television series.

Twitter is abuzz with speculation that Kristen Stewart will attend Wednesday’s “People’s Choice Awards.”

Though she’s not one of the previously announced celebrity guests, an audience placard for Stewart was curiously shown on Tuesday night’s “Entertainment Tonight.”

In the clip (see still photo below), the seating arrangement has Stewart sitting next to her boyfriend and Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson.

So, is Stewart really going to be at the People’s Choice Awards?

Nope.

A source close to the star tells Gossip Cop exclusively that the pictured seating chart is “bulls**t.”

The insider says they wanted “a headshot of [Stewart] for a skit,” but it’s unclear whether they’ll actually be doing the skit or not.

Regardless, while Pattinson is attending the awards show to support his nomination for Water For Elephants, Stewart was NEVER scheduled to appear and will NOT be there.

Boy wizard Daniel Radcliffe recently joined MTV’s Josh Horowitz for a segment of “American Talk: Ghost Protocol.”

Things got intense.

Radcliffe was quizzed on the titles of all four films in The Twilight Saga (we won’t spoil how he did) and, at one point, was instructed to hit Horowitz a la Fight Club.

The duo cover other important aspects of American culture and history, too, including Neil Diamond, Transformers, and playing the bongos naked.

George Takei is blasting Twilight – but it’s all in good fun.

The actor, who starred as Mr. Sulu on “Star Trek,” has made a video asking that his show’s supporters end their long-running feud with “Star Wars” fans, as exemplified by recent online tangling between William Shatner and Carrie Fisher.

Takei says the real fight should be against vampires who “sparkle and mope and go to high school.”

“There is an ominous, mutual threat to all science fiction,” he argues. “It’s called Twilight.”

“Was Ashley Greene bitten by a vampire in real life?” asks Star, which writes that the Twilight actress “inadvertently revealed what looked like scars from two puncture wounds on her right thigh during a Breaking Dawn event in Chicago.”

Starving for scandal, the tabloid showed a  photograph of Greene’s leg (right) to an “L.A. based plastic surgeon,” who says, “It’s possible they’re liposuction scars… Poorly done liposuction can result in dents and divots similar to the ones evident on Ms. Greene’s thigh.”

The doctor, who has never treated or even met Greene, further conjectures, “She also could have had a ‘fat melting’ procedure such as mesotherapy, which involves injecting the drug in small volumes to spot areas to treat localized sections of fat,” resulting sometimes in “skin dimpling.”

However, if the mag cared even the slightest bit about the truth, they would have gone to people who know the actress, as Gossip Cop did, rather than to some random doctor who told them what they want to hear.

A source close to Greene tells us liposuction claims are “false,” and explains, “The scars are from a childhood injury – she broke her leg and had pins put in as part of the recovery.”

In an interview with Seventeen, Nikki Reed made a few candid comments about the changing nature of cast members’ relationships behind the scenes on the Twilight Saga movies.

“In the beginning, it was innocent and fun, and we were like one big happy family – it was like being at sleep away camp,” says Reed. “And then success comes along and changes the dynamic. We’re not all best friends, and we’re not all going to hang out together after the final movie is done.”

Reed tells Seventeen some of the unraveled relationships on the set were “very sad.”

It seems pretty reasonable.

A huge group of actors and actresses, many of whom were still just kids when the franchise launched, have worked together for years, and in that time there have been friendships made and frayed.

But the New York Post couldn’t resist turning Reed’s remarks into something way more dramatic.

“Cast discord at Breaking Dawn premiere’?” screams the paper’s headline on Tuesday, insinuating that the humans who play the vampires and werewolves were about to throw down on the red carpet.

The Post also interprets Reed’s remarks to mean that some cast members “might even be enemies.”

Let’s get a grip on reality here.

Media outlets usually jump all over celebrities for not speaking honestly about what goes on behind the scenes in Hollywood.

In this case, Reed made the mistake of admitting that actors and actresses are human beings whose relationships sometimes ebb and flow, and the Post rewarded her by printing a headline that makes it seem as those the Twilight stars are constantly at each other’s throats.

Not everyone is everyone else’s best friend. That simply isn’t going to happen when a large cast makes five movies together.

But the notion that Reed revealed some kind of vicious secret feuding is just not true.

Gossip Cop can’t blame celebs for being cautious in interviews when their words are likely to be sensationalized like they were here.

According to the blog, the onscreen-and-offscreen couple are “considering an offer to star in a romantic comedy together which would poke fun at their on-set love affair.”

The site explains, “The story revolves around two actors who meet on a movie and fall in love.”

In a purely fabricated quote, a so-called Hollywood “insider” says, “The producers want to get an actual couple to plays the leads and Kristen and Robert are top of their list. They are looking for new challenges after Twilight so this may be perfect for them.”

Don’t get your hopes up too much.

Gossip Cop looked into this story, and it’s entirely NOT true.

A source close to the couple tells us “it’s fiction,” “absurd,” and “made up.”

The couple, who got engaged in June, swapped vows in Malibu before 100 friends and family members.

Reed and McDonald only began dating in March, after meeting at the Red Riding Hood premiere in L.A.

The first three Twilight Saga films are returning to theaters in the Tuesdays leading up to the November 18 release of the franchise’s fourth installment, Breaking Dawn – Part I.

Twilight will be shown on November 1, New Moon on November 8 and Eclipse on November 15.

According to the announcement from Summit and NCM Fathom, the evening will also include “Exclusive introductions from the cast members, compelling interviews with the stars answering the questions that Twilight Saga aficionados have always wanted answered and amazing clips from the many fan tests over the years.”

Approximately 730 theaters will take part in the event, which begins at 7:30 p.m. each night.

Ashley Greene reportedly has a new man.

The Twilight actress is said to be dating Broadway’s “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” star Reeve Carney.

The pair was recently spotted holding hands on the New York subway.

Carney, who will star in the upcoming Jeff Buckley biopic, was previously linked to his “Spider-Man” co-star Jennifer Damiano.

Gossip Cop reached out to a rep for Greene, who declined to comment.

Robert Pattinson is “prepping to record an album imminently,” reports Us Weekly.

Sources for the mag say that Pattinson, who’s has previously recorded two songs featured on the original Twilight soundtrack, “has been kicking a few original songs around for a long time, but his schedule didn’t allow it.”

Adds one of the sources, “Now he’s got some weeks to get everything in line before going back to promoting Breaking Dawn.”

But when asked if the actor and talented musician is currently planning on recording an album, an impeccable Pattinson insider tells Gossip Cop, “He is not.”

Summit Entertainment is suing Twilight.com for copyright violation.

The studio claims Tom Markson, the site’s proprietor, is illegally using Twilight Saga trademarks and allowing visitors to believe they’ve arrived at an officially sanctioned platform.

Markson profits off of the use of copyrighted content, says Summit in its complaint.

“Summit learned that defendant is using the Twilight intellectual property on his website in a variety of ways, including posting links to download Twilight recordings, posting links for unauthorized Twilight contests and fake casting calls for the Twilight motion pictures,” reads part of the document filed in U.S. District Court last week.

It claims that Twilight.com is ”leading consumers to believe that they had reached the official Twilight Motion Picture Web site.”

Summit says it sent Markson two cease-and-desist letters in 2009, and, because Markson “has not ceased his unlawful activities,” is now pursuing him for false designation of origin, trademark infringement, trademark dilution, unfair competition and copyright infringement.

It’s not the first time Summit has cracked down on threats to its copyright.

Last month, the studio took legal action against Daiana Santia, a hacker in Argentina who allegedly stole and distributed images from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

“Ryan’s Hot Hookup,” reads a headline from Life & Style, which claims Ryan Phillippe has been canoodling with Ashley Greene.

The mag says Phillippe was recently “spotted out schmoozing Twilight star Ashley Greene,” and quotes a supposed “friend” as saying, “I think they’d both been attracted to each other for a while.”

So when exactly did this alleged tryst occur?

“They hooked up right after he’d been partying with Demi Lovato for a week,” notes the “insider,” who adds that Lovato “isn’t going to be happy” about her man’s new fling.

OK, let’s get something straight.

Lovato and Phillippe were NEVER dating.

And similarly, this supposed “hookup” between Greene and Phillippe NEVER happened.

A source close to the actor tells Gossip Cop the tab’s tale is “not true,” pointing out that he’s been on the East Coast for some time, while Greene is in L.A.

And a source close to Greene confirms the story is “untrue.”

Here’s some sad news from the Pacific Northwest.

The View Point Inn, where Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart filmed the Twilight prom scene, suffered major damage in a three-alarm fire over the weekend.

Several fire squads responded to the huge blaze, which occurred on Sunday, only hours before the Corbett, Oregon venue was scheduled to host a wedding.

The fire – which was declared an accident – destroyed the hotel’s roof, attic and third floor. There is smoke and water damage to the first and second floors.

Fortunately, there were no injuries.

It’s believed that sparks from the hotel’s chimney are to blame.

The landmark was used in 2008′s Twilight as the setting for Edward Cullen and Bella Swan’s prom, turning the hotel into a destination spot for fans of the movie.

Since splitting from Joe Jonas, Ashley Greene has been linked to a couple different guys, and now at least one tabloid is just throwing random stuff against the wall.

In Touch magazine claims the Twilight actress “is now dating Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane.”

“He’s been spending late nights at her condo,” explains a so-called “insider” for the tabloid.

Um, if this seems to come from out of nowhere, that’s because it does.

“This is untrue,” a source close to Greene tells Gossip Cop.

A so-called “source” for the mag says, “Nikki looks like she’s gained about 10 lbs. and is refusing alcohol,” leading friends to suspect she has a baby on the way.

The couple is also “hunting for a family-friendly home,” notes the tab, and Reed is supposedly “talking about taking a break from acting.”

So, is Reed really expecting?

Nope.

A source close to the actress tells Gossip Cop that Reed is not pregnant, and the mag’s story is “incorrect.”

Mitt Romney loves the Twilight Saga books and “American Idol,” the Republican presidential hopeful reveals in an interview on “The Today Show.”

After discussing his fondness for The Beatles and other classic rock, Romney opens up about being an “Idol” fanboy.

“This year with Scotty [McCreery] winning, that was terrific! That guy’s got talent!” gushes Romney.

The former Massachusetts governor also has a soft spot for the supernatural.

“I like silly stuff, too, I like the ‘Twilight’ series, I thought that was fun,” says Romney, although he’s quick to add, “I don’t like vampires, per se. I don’t know any.”

Sadly, Romney doesn’t reveal whether he’s Team Jacob or Team Edward.

According to E! Online, Ashley Greene “gave some serious ‘tude” last night in Los Angeles when photographers asked about her split from Joe Jonas.

The site claims the Twilight star “snapped” when a paparazzo “deigned to inquire about her former fling,” with whom she recently broke up.

One tiny problem… there’s video of the incident, and the only rude ones are the photographers themselves.

Greene and her companions were met by paparazzi who swarmed the actress, almost knocking over some bystanders.

Meanwhile, Greene never gets “snippy” with them at all.

She simply tells one photographer – very calmly – that his question is “not nice.”

That’s it.

Greene then smiles and poses for pictures with fans.

We’re not sure where she shows off that alleged “tude.”

It’s a shame that outlets feel the need to portray Greene and other perfectly polite stars with misleading accounts like this one.

Ashley Greene isn’t moping over her recent split from Joe Jonas.

The Twilight star has been out and about in New York city this week, spending time with Kings of Leon bassist Jared Followill.

Greene and Followill were spotted at Avenue on Monday night, where an eyewitness tells Gossip Cop they were “flirting.”

The pair met up again yesterday at Phebe’s Tavern, where they hung out with the actress’ father.

Right now, it seems that Greene and the rocker are just hanging out, but Gossip Cop will keep you posted if anything progresses.

Joe Jonas and Ashley Greene have broken up, their reps confirm.

The couple is said to have parted ways shortly after Greene’s 24th birthday celebration on February 19.

Jonas and Greene began dating last summer after meeting through mutual friends in London.

The singer gushed about the his relationship with the Twilight star in the new issue of Details magazine, saying, “I think what works about it is she really puts my feelings first.”

Battle: Los Angeles easily won this weekend’s box office war.

The alien invasion film, starring Aaron Eckhart, earned $36 million.

In second place with $23.1 million was last week’s top film, the Johnny Depp-voiced animated lizard film, Rango.

Red Riding Hood, starring Amanda Seyfried and directed by Twilight‘s Catherine Hardwicke, placed third with $14 million.

The Adjustment Bureau ($11.5 million) and the new, animated Disney film Mars Needs Moms ($6.8 million) took fourth and fifth places.

Rounding out the Top Ten are Beastly ($5.1 million), Hall Pass ($5.1 million), Just Go With It ($4 million), The King’s Speech ($3.5 million) and Gnomeo & Juliet ($3.5 million).

The Pacific tsunami has halted shooting on Breaking Dawn.

Cast and crew have been evacuated from the film’s Tofino production location on the coast of British Columbia.

Summit Entertainment has released the following statement: “Due to the tsunami advisory, filming of ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn’ has been delayed.”

“All cast and crew were evacuated to the movie production’s base camp. Everyone is safe and sound.”

In 2009, Famous magazine claimed Kristen Stewart was “snobby” and “miserable” and at odds with her cast mates, also reporting that she was going to quit the Twilight franchise.

In 2010, Famous insisted that Stewart was in a romance with Taylor Lautner and “drifting away” from Robert Pattinson.

As soon as 2011 began, of course, Famous reported that Stewart and Pattinson were engaged.

The tabloid prints so many rumors about Stewart, you’d think they’d get one right by sheer accident at some point.

That moment hasn’t arrived.

According to the latest issue, the “reluctant leading lady” of Breaking Dawn has buckled under the pressure and is “partying the stress away.”

“Kristen’s been drinking a lot recently,” alleges a Famous “source” who goes on to explain that the actress starts each day “exhausted and hung over.”

A Pattinson “friend” claims Stewart is “clearly struggling to cope” and that “her behavior is getting more and more out of control.”

Stewart is so worn down, claims the magazine, it’s even becoming hard for the film’s make-up artists to keep her looking fresh.

“She comes in most days looking pale, with huge circles under her eyes,” explains a so-called “insider.” “She’s not been eating properly either and her face is starting to look gaunt and hollow.”

Actually, it’s this entire story that’s “hollow” – not surprising, considering the source.

Month after month, year after year, Famous takes shots at Kristen Stewart. When she wasn’t partying, it was because she was aloof and alienated. That narrative fell flat. So now she’s supposedly partying too much, and we’re expected to believe it’s because she can’t handle Breaking Dawn – a movie Famous told us she wasn’t going to make in the first place.

A source assures Gossip Cop that Stewart isn’t an out-of-control party animal off the set.

It’s clear that Stewart can’t help but run afoul of Famous – because Famous can’t help but run afoul of the facts.

The tabloid does have one thing in common with Stewart’s Bella Swan – both inhabit fictional worlds.
