Like a child threatened by the arrival of a newborn sibling, Life & Style does everything it can in a desperate bid to win attention.

Last week, the mag put together a baffling cover story of contradictions and conspiracy to explain how Robert Pattinson had “dumped” Kristen Stewart.

Worn out by those contrivances, Life & Style keeps it simple this time, taking a Pattinson interview and pretending it means something it doesn’t.

We almost forgot it was April 1… and then we saw our inbox.

There will no doubt be even more hoaxes than usual today, and some doozies are already ricocheting around the Internet.

One that’s reached us (very early) announces, “Robert Pattinson has confirmed that he is not going to appear in the Eclipse sequel, Breaking Dawn.” The item cites Pattinson’s work schedule as what’s “come between him and returning as Edward Cullen.”

This is, of course, an April Fools’ Day joke.

Mag Forgets Own Wrong Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart Rumor

Truth rating: 0
(GettyImages.com)

Recently, the gang at Life & Style concocted a theory that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart planned to reveal a romance to coincide with filming for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

Of course, there was nothing to the claims. Summit Entertainment has no say over the actors’ private lives, and their castmates have not been under any kind of gag order.

Not that it matters. This week, Life & Style forgets its own reporting.

Instead, the mag latches onto Stewart’s attendance at the New York premiere of Pattinson’s Remember Me to make a grand declaration: “At last — Twilight stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart go public with their romance!”
