Tom Cruise is “losing control of his kids,” according to In Touch.

The magazine insists that the star is “struggling” with Isabella and Connor, his two adopted children with ex-wife Nicole Kidman.

Uh-oh!

Have they gotten into anything illegal or dangerous?

Um, not exactly.

“Ever since they were babies, Tom has micromanaged Bella and Connor’s lives,” a so-called “insider” tells the tabloid, adding, “He feels left out now that they are establishing identities and making their own ways in the world.”

Wait, so this entire article is about Cruise’s adult or near-adult children becoming more independent?

That’s basically the case.

Connor, for instance, is making his own money as a DJ now, making him less dependent on his famous father for cash.

Isabella, meanwhile, is dating a musician named Eddie Frencher, a sign that she’s “ready to break free from the family.”

“Bella and Connor have their own ideas of how they want to live their lives. It’s time for Tom to let them fly,” concludes the “insider.”

Let’s translate this entire piece of In Touch “reporting”: Children get older, and their parents sometimes have trouble letting go.

The suggestion that this is somehow unique to the Cruises is complete nonsense.

As for the notion that Tom Cruise is trying to keep his kids from living their own lives, a rep tells us that’s “false.”

Tom Cruise rang into 2012 with a win at the box office.

The star’s Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol took the top spot at the box office on New Year’s weekend, raking in $31.3 million, beating second place finisher Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows ($22.1 million).

Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chip-Wrecked came in third with $18.3 million.

War Horse and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo secured fourth and fifth places with $16.9 million and $16.3 million, respectively.

Rounding out the Top 10 were the Matt Damon family flick We Bought A Zoo ($14.3 million), The Adventures of Tintin ($12 million), New Year’s Eve ($6.7 million), Moscow alien invasion flick The Darkest Hour ($4.3 million), and The Descendants ($3.7 million).

Jeremy Renner has squashed speculation that he will take over the Mission: Impossible franchise.

Despite positive buzz for his role alongside Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol, and acknowledging the potential for a take-over last year, Renner now says, “It’s not happening.”

“No, it’s not true about Mission: Impossible,” Renner tells Reuters. “There’s no taking over.”

The actor said it’s just one of many rumors he’s heard lately, like “that I’m sleeping with half of Hollywood — and I’m like, ‘who has the time?’”

It was a good Christmas weekend for Tom Cruise.

His Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol won the three-day holiday weekend’s top spot, taking in $26.5 million.

Securing second place with $17.8 million was Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows, followed by third-place finisher Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chip-Wrecked, with $13.3 million in ticket sales.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and The Adventures Of Tintin came in fourth and fifth places with $13 million and $9.1 million, respectively.

Rounding out the Top 10 were the new Matt Damon release, We Bought A Zoo ($7.8 million), New Year’s Eve ($3.6 million), Arthur Christmas ($2.7 million), The Muppets ($2.2 million), and Hugo ($1.6 million).

It looks like it’s going to be a big Christmas for Tom Cruise.

Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol is set to win the extended weekend box office with $45 million, according to early estimates.

That would place it ahead of other blockbusters like Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, both of which are expected to hit the $30 million mark.

But these projections are still very early.

The fourth and fifth spots should be taken by a pair of animates kids movies: Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chip-Wrecked ($24 million) and The Adventures of Tintin ($16 million).

In a battle among sequels, it’s Sherlock on top.

Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows easily won the weekend box office, debuting with $40 million in ticket sales.

Robert Downey, Jr.’s detective film finished ahead of second place Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chip-Wrecked, with $23.5 million.

Despite a limited release, Tom Cruise’s spy movie, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, still nabbed third with $13.6 million.

New Year’s Eve and The Sitter took fourth and fifth places with $7.4 million and $4.4 million, respectively.

Rounding out the Top 10 were The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 ($4.3 million), Young Adult ($3.7 million), Hugo ($3.6 million), Arthur Christmas ($3.6 million), and The Muppets ($3.5 million).

“Tom spoils Katie from across the world!” reads a headline from In Touch, which goes on to say, “Tom Cruise’s real ‘mission’ is to get Katie Holmes to agree to baby number two.”

According to the tab, Cruise is “on an all-out campaign” to convince Holmes “to have a second child.”

The mag alleges the actor “has been showering her with pricey gifts on a daily basis.”

And while Cruise is traveling around the world promoting Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol, “he’s been working overtime to make sure Katie keeps him — and baby number two — in her thoughts,” writes In Touch.

He’s been doing that by having flowers “delivered to the house every day, along with her favorite foods.”

Cruise even “hired the sushi chef from famed restaurant Nobu to prepare all of Katie’s favorites” one evening, notes the mag.

Basically, the mag is saying Cruise is bribing his wife to get pregnant with the help of orchids and sushi.

That sounds a bit fishy.

Albeit ludicrous, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to Cruise, and we’re told there’s absolutely no truth to the In Touch report.

Tom Cruise confirmed that 25 years after his hit Top Gun, there’s talk about doing a sequel.

“We’re working on it,” he told MTV News at the Dubai International Film Festival, adding, “I hope we can figure this out to do it again.”

Cruise, who was promoting Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, said he’s been talking with Top Gun director Tony Scott about the film’s plotline.

“We never thought that we would do it again,” said Cruise. “Then, they started to come to us with these ideas of where it is now. I thought, ‘Wow… what we could do now.’”

He further notes,  ”We all want to make a film that is in the same kind of tone as the other one and shoot it in the same way as we shot Top Gun.”

Tom Cruise caused the world premiere of his film, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, to be delayed for a full two hours on Wednesday — and nobody seemed to mind.

The actor screened his latest thriller on the opening night of the Dubai International Film Festival, and while attendees at the gala waited inside the theater for the movie to begin, Cruise methodically went up and down the red carpet, signing autographs, posters, and posing for photos with almost every fan there.

Two hours later, Cruise, director Brad Bird, and some of Ghost Protocol‘s co-stars introduced the film for the very patient audience, but not before expressing their thanks to Dubai, where several scenes were shot, including one in which the star is hanging out of the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa.

We hope Suri Cruise doesn’t read In Touch – because the tabloid just promised her a pony for Christmas.

Along with diamond studs and all the “frilly custom-designed dresses” she could ever want!

That’s because, according to In Touch, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have “no issue with getting their pampered daughter everything she asks for.”

“Tom and Katie love the holidays and always go overboard to make sure Suri has a magical time,” explains a so-called “family friend,” adding, “They are buying absolutely everything she asked for!”

And this year, her “No. 1 wish is a pony!” claims the In Touch source, adding that Tom Cruise has already been on the search for a $100,000-plus pony, which is on Suri’s list for Santa, along with “diamond earrings and beautiful dresses, like a fairy princess gown.”

Just to be clear: In Touch claims (1) to know exactly what Suri Cruise wants for Christmas and that (2) the 5-year-old gets absolutely everything she wants.

Uh-huh.

A rep for the couple tells Gossip Cop the entire preposterous story is “false.”

In other words, don’t expect to see a diamond-accessorized Suri riding a pony through Beverly Hills come December 25.

“Suri Cruise, author?” asks In Touch, before explaining, “The 5-year-old is currently penning her own children’s book.”

According to the magazine, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes think their daughter’s book is “so good, they plan to publish it when she’s finished.”

In Touch quotes an alleged “family friend” as saying, “Not only is [Suri] writing the book, she’s also working on all the illustrations.”

Although Suri reportedly hasn’t come up with a title for her book, says the mag, “the story is about the adventures of a little girl who lives in a big house in Beverly Hills.”

Reading In Touch‘s story has actually inspired us to write a children’s rhyme of our own, and we’d like to share it here with you.

We can’t wait to read the book by Suri Cruise; Every page will be fun to peruse.

No doubt it would be a big hit; Except In Touch is full of s**t.

Tom Cruise‘s adopted son Connor is “desperate for his dad’s love,” reports In Touch, which characterizes the father and son’s relationship as “strange and cold.”

A supposed “source” for the tabloid claims, “Tom is a very difficult man to get to know…. It’s almost like he treats Connor like a business associate rather than a son.

The alleged source adds that the 16-year-old is also extremely jealous of his five-year-old sister, Suri.

While Suri is lavished with “attention, fancy family trips and essentially whatever her heart desires materially,” Connor is left out in the cold by his dad and stepmom, Katie Holmes, says In Touch.

Connor’s supposedly bitter because he thinks his half-sister “gets a lot more of Tom’s time and attention” than he got as a child.

The “source” says, “He’s been in therapy on and off” to help him “deal with his family drama, but he still gets very emotional.”

OK, here’s what’s true about this story: Connor Cruise is adopted.

Here’s what’s not: Everything else.

A source close to Cruise call the story “disgusting” and “wrong,” and tells Gossip Cop, “They are super-close and Connor is on set with him all the time when he can be, and is going on the Mission [Impossible] tour.”

The only “drama” here is what’s being manufactured by In Touch.

The full trailer for Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, the fourth installment in the hit espionage series starring Tom Cruise, is finally out.

Before the fast-paced action begins in the nearly three-minute promo, there’s an introduction by the film’s director Brad Bird.

Featuring a ton of other familiar faces, including Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Josh Holloway, and Paula Patton, Ghost Protocol has lots of explosions, chases, fights, secrets, crashes and intense action.

The movie hits theaters on December 17.

Suri Cruise is getting some early lessons in tabloid hypocrisy, thanks to Life & Style.

The magazine shamelessly splashes the five-year-old’s face on its cover for a huge story about how she’s “trapped” in the “warped” world of her parents, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.

(Right, because there’s nothing more stabilizing for a kindergartener who despises paparazzi attention than winding up on a tab’s cover – yet again.)

Of course, Life & Style is the same magazine that thinks Holmes is in her sixth or seventh trimester, so good judgment isn’t exactly a top priority.

In any case, the story calls Cruise a “Little Girl Lost” and claims she was “forced” to miss school to attend Fashion Week in New York, where she was caught “in a parade of flashbulbs, skinny models and expensive couture.”

Life & Style explains that she’s a “captive of her parents’ warped celebrity world,” which means lots of traveling and time alone, which Holmes and Cruise supposedly make up for “by lavishing her with presents that aren’t suitable for a kid.”

“Indeed, their attempt to substitute luxuries for love is only further sacrificing her childhood,” laments the tabloid, throwing around fabricated figures about the little girl’s “$2 million wardrobe” and previously debunked rumors of tantrums and spoiled behavior.

As Gossip Cop has reported repeatedly, this notion that Suri Cruise never sees her parents and is “trapped” in some kind of twisted world is completely bogus.

While Cruise and Holmes are obviously busy, his rep says this latest Life & Style attack, suggesting that they buy their daughter’s love, is totally “false.”

Of course, if the magazine were actually concerned about Suri Cruise’s celebrity lifestyle and expectations, Life & Style would stop plastering her face on its cover.

Because their last alarmist cover story about Katie Holmes allegedly starving herself was an inaccurate, mean-spirited mess, the gang at Life & Style tries again this week to prove that Holmes has an obsession with her weight.

According to the tabloid, Holmes is convinced that she’s losing Hollywood roles because she’s too big, even though “her fight against fat has reached shocking extremes, giving Katie a protruding spine and visible ribs that cause onlookers to gasp.”

Holmes supposedly keeps to a “liquid diet of Diet Coke, water and tea,” claims the magazine, with a so-called “insider” saying, “She doesn’t even seem interested in food anymore.”

What bit of evidence does Life & Style dangle?

Well, a server at the Le Pain Quotidien in Los Angeles observes that Holmes orders only coffee when she steps up to the counter. “No croissants, no cinnamon rolls, no cookies.”

So… Holmes doesn’t get pastry at one eatery in one city, claims one employee.

We’re less than convinced.

As Life & Style notes, “Her adoring husband, Tom Cruise, would be proud to have the star on his arm no matter her size. ‘I love it when Tom tells me I look great,’ Katie has admitted. ‘It gives me such confidence.’”

Indeed, Life & Style seems bent on destroying whatever confidence Holmes gets from Cruise or otherwise, running article after article that fixates on her weight and refusing to just let her be, even though she doesn’t have any eating disorders.

A source close to Holmes assures Gossip Cop, “It’s clearly ridiculous.”

Jimmy Kimmel is going to do a full tribute show next Tuesday to “Uncle Frank,” who died a little more than a week ago.

Frank Potenza, Kimmel’s real-life uncle, was a retired New York City police officer who served as a “security guard” and frequent comedic contributor on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

The tribute show is slated to feature comedy bits with “Uncle Frank,” as well as interviews he did with a slew of celebrities, including Tom Cruise. ”Uncle Frank” pal and funnyman Don Rickles will also be a guest on the special edition.

Eric Clapton, Andrea Bocelli and the Black Eyed Peas performed last night near Rome at the wedding of businessman James Stunt and British heiress Petra Ecclestone, who recently bought Tori Spelling‘s childhood home for $85 million.

Ecclestone, the daughter of billionaire Formula One honcho Bernie Ecclestone, exchanged vows with Stunt outside of Rome at Castello Orsini-Odescalchi, the same castle where Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes tied the knot.

The bride walked down the aisle in a $130,00 Vera Wang gown in front of guests that included Paris and Nicky Hilton.

After the ceremony, invitees were treated to fireworks and performances by Bocelli, Clapton and the Black Eyed Peas.

“Tom & Katie Help Suri Make Friends,” reads the headline of a piece in Life & Style that claims, “After years of taking their daughter all over the world for their film projects, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are… determined to see their 5-year-old make friends.”

According to the tabloid, on August 8, the celeb couple enrolled their supposedly friendless daughter in a class at New York’s Chelsea Piers sports complex. However, says a so-called “eyewitness,” after Suri “refused to play with the other kids… they assigned a counselor to help her come out of her shell.”

Life & Style says that move clearly worked because two days later Suri was on the set of “So You Think You Can Dance,” where her mom was a guest judge, and she “sat in the audience with two girls and a boy, and they held up a sign that said, ‘We love you, Katie.’”

Let’s examine this report…

The mag first claimed Suri needed a “counselor” to help her make friends at a sports complex in New York, and then two days later brought three new friends to “So You Think You Can Dance” in L.A.

So now Suri is so adept at making friends, she’s meeting little kids on the East coast and getting them to fly out West with her for TV tapings?

Not only is the story a complete fabrication, it’s illogical as well.

Of course, this is the same tab that has repeatedly reported wrong stories about Suri and her folks.

Nevertheless, Gossip Cop reached out to Cruise’s rep, who said the entire magazine piece about Suri is totally “false.”

The site picks up a report from the equally lame MediaTakeOut that says Cruise “has been tapped by Lil Wayne to be part of his Young Money & Cash Money Billionaires roster.”

“He will allegedly be producing beats at the label,” adds HollywoodLife, “and may even go on tour with some of the most famous artists, including Lil Wayne and Drake!”

“Tom & Nicole must be so proud!” speculates the outlet, whose reporting is very rarely anything to be proud about.

Not surprisingly, the Cruise/Young Money report is 100% wrong.

A rep tells us the story is “totally false,” adding that there haven’t even been discussions for Cruise to join the label.

Katie Holmes is “desperate to be skinny,” declares Life & Style‘s new cover story, which purports to reveal the actress’ “alarming” exercise and diet routines.

According to the magazine, Holmes is wasting away to nothing because Tom Cruise micromanages every other part of who she is.

“Tom may have taken over every aspect of her life, but only she has control over her body,” explains Life & Style.

A so-called “insider” claims Cruise treats Holmes “like his Eliza Doolittle,” molding everything from career choices to personal style, and allegedly driving Holmes to unsafe exercise and diet practices in a bid to reassert herself.

Now she’s supposedly on a “near-hunger strike,” substituting Diet Coke and tea for food and going overboard with Pilates, spinning and running.

“It’s really noticeable in person that she’s painfully thin,” claims a so-called “eyewitness” at the Soho House pool in Miami.

Actually, what’s become “noticeable” is Life & Style‘s endlessly laughable speculation when it comes to Holmes, including wrong pregnancy rumors and confusing, contradictory claims about her daughter Suri.

If Holmes gained weight, Life & Style would say she was depressed. It’s yet another example of tabloids using any body fluctuation to print negative rumors.

A rep for the actress tells Gossip Cop the entire weight story is “ridiculous.”

“Suri Cruise Will Star In First Major Motion Picture!” exclaims Perez Hilton, who goes on to report that Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise‘s daughter “has decided to take after her Mom and Dad and pursue a career in acting. Apparently, Suri decided she wanted to do this all on her own, with no outside guidance” from her folks.

The blogger adds, “She’s been picking out her own clothes since she was 6 months old. Seems only logical she pick a career at the age of 5.”

According to Perez, who relies this time on the equally unreliable In Touch, “Tom already has a role lined up for his darling daughter – a cameo in his upcoming movie musical, Rock of Ages.”

Perez then writes, “Watch yourself, KATIE! You’re already in competition with half of Hollywood for the roles you want. Do you really want your daughter hot your heels at every audition you go to??? HA!”

Once again, the “ha” should be directed at Perez.

“Suri’s Lonely Summer!” exclaims the headline of yet another needlessly mean-spirited In Touch article about five-year-old Suri Cruise.

The tabloid, which two weeks ago wrongly reported that Tom Cruise bought his daughter a $100,000 treehouse, now says Suri “has no one to play with.”

According to In Touch, “While living in Miami with mom Katie Holmes – as dad Tom Cruise films Rock of Ages – Suri has been stuck entertaining herself every single day. And despite her parents’ best efforts, it’s obvious she’s unhappy.”

An unnamed “Miami local” tells the magazine, “She never hangs out with other children her age, ever.”

Since Cruise is so busy with Rock of Ages, adds another so-called “insider,” “Suri and Katie have never come to visit the set.”

Here’s what’s wrong with the In Touch story — EVERYTHING.

Suri is NOT “unhappy.”

She has friends, and is NOT “lonely.”

And she’s visited her dad on the set of his movie.

A source close to Holmes tells Gossip Cop that the nasty In Touch piece is “all false.”

“In Touch” and “all false” in the same sentence? Yeah, that sounds about right.

Tom Cruise stars in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, the fourth installment in the hit espionage series.

The movie features a ton of other familiar faces, including Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Josh Holloway, Ving Rhames, Tom Wilkinson and Paula Patton.

Ghost Protocol seems to involve lots of explosions, kicking and fancy cars.

It hits theaters in December.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes just bought five-year-old Suri a “$100,000 tree house,” reports In Touch.

The mag says the mini estate behind the family’s Beverly Hills home is complete with running water, electricity as well as “shag carpeting.”

According to a supposed “family friend,” the tricked-out tree house also has security cameras, a “housekeeper” and a “team of nannies that cater to [Suri's] every need.”

So, does the little Cruise really have her own private “chateau”?

No!

A rep for Cruise tells Gossip Cop the tab’s story is completely “false.”

Once again, In Touch barks up the wrong tree.
