Jennifer Lopez appeared on the “Today Show” on Monday, discussing her “American Idol” stint and her new show “Q’Viva! – The Chosen.”

Lopez is doing that project, of course, with her estranged husband Marc Anthony.

She admitted to Matt Lauer that she and Anthony have “moments” of not liking each other (“We’re human”), but insists that their mutual love of “Q’Viva!” as a passion project outweighs all of that.

“It’s not the easiest thing in the world, but I think we handle it with a lot of grace and with a lot of caring and a lot of love,” she says.

Lauer then asked if Lopez thinks she’ll ever get married again.

“I don’t know… we’ll see… It’s not time to think about that yet.”

Brad Pitt is thrilled about his Best Actor nomination for this year’s Academy Awards – and also excited for two of his close buddies.

“I’m so happy for Jonah Hill, I can’t tell you,” Pitt said of his Moneyball co-star, a Best Supporting Actor nominee, during a phone call to the “Today Show” on Tuesday.

Pitt will be going head-to-head with old friend George Clooney in his own category.

Does it feel weird?

“Absolutely not,” said Pitt. “It’s more fun to have a friend there. No one does it better than George. I say give him all the trophies, and when you run out of trophies, make some new ones and give him those, too.”

Pitt calls his Best Actor nod a “great honor,” and is especially gratified considering Moneyball was “dead on the rocks just two years ago.”

His immediate celebration plans at his house on Tuesday were simple and sweet: “Pancakes for everyone!”

Paula Deen, the popular cooking show host known for her fattening recipes, has confirmed that she has Type 2 diabetes.

“I was diagnosed three years ago during a regular physical exam with my doctor,” she announced on Tuesday’s “Today Show,” explaining that she kept the news private while she “figured things out in my own head.”

For years, Deen’s promotion of butter- and sugar-heavy foods has drawn criticism from observers of America’s worsening obesity epidemic.

Deen dismissed the notion that she didn’t come forward earlier because it could have damaged her reputation and career.

“I wanted to bring something to the table [with her news],” she said, referring to the launch of Diabetes in a New Light, announced in press materials as a venture intended to “show others that managing diabetes does not have to stop you from enjoying the things you love.”

Onetime hosts including Barbara Walters, Tom Brokaw, Katie Couric and Meredith Vieira joined the current crew of Matt Lauer and Ann Curry to commemorate the television institution.

As part of the event, staffers dressed in 1950s garb gathered in Rockefeller Plaza.

With his contract set to expire soon, Ryan Seacrest said Sunday he “can’t imagine life without ‘American Idol.’”

Though negotiations are ongoing, it remains to be seen whether Seacrest will stay on as host of the hit reality series or take his talents elsewhere.

In December, it was reported the TV personality is in talks with NBC to host the “Today Show,” if Matt Lauer leaves at the end of 2012.

Speaking during the “Idol” panel at the Television Critics Association’s Winter press tour, Seacrest said he “can’t comment on that” but admitted, “At this point… I only see myself hosting ‘American Idol.’”

Added FOX reality head Mike Darnell, “Our expectation is he’ll be on this television show for as long as we can keep him on the show.”

The National Enquirer reports Sandra Bullock laid into “Today Show” host Matt Lauer after he pointed out her lack of screen time in Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close during a recent interview.

According to the tab, “The minute the camera blinked off, Sandra ripped into SmartAss [Lauer] for repeatedly needling that she’s on-screen ‘for only 24 minutes!’”

Bullock “couldn’t believe Matt kept poking so-called ‘fun,’ telling millions of viewers that she’s hardly in the movie,” adds the mag’s so-called “source.”

The Oscar winner allegedly “went right in his face about it after the show,” says the tab, which claims that when the news anchor attempted to apologize, “Sandra stormed off.”

Whoa, that’s pretty dramatic for morning television!

But, like some other Enquirer tales, this one is Extremely Wrong and Incredibly False.

As you can see in the video below, Bullock openly acknowledges her part in the film is small, saying of starring roles, “I’ve already had those moments.” She further explains that she was so enamored with the project, she was happy to have any part in the movie at all.

In any case, a source close to the actress tells Gossip Cop the tab’s story is “completely made up.”

Ryan Seacrest is being pursued as a possible replacement for Matt Lauer on the “Today Show,” according to reports.

NBC executives met with Seacrest on Tuesday to discuss the possibility of succeeding Lauer if the longtime co-anchor leaves his seat in 2012, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The Seacrest-for-Lauer story was first reported by Mediaite back in August.

There have been no reported deals, or anything beyond preliminary conversations.

Gossip Cop has reached out to reps for both Seacrest and the “Today Show.”

It’s important to note: Lauer may not be leaving, but NBC is having discussions about a potential succession plan should he decide to leave.

Giuliana Rancic was back to work just hours after announcing she plans to undergo a double mastectomy.

The E! correspondent, who revealed on Monday’s “Today” show that she’s going through with the breast cancer surgery, maintained her usual upbeat attitude as she conducted red carpet interviews that evening at the New York premiere of Angelina Jolie‘s directorial debut, In the Land of Blood and Honey.

Rancic chatted with Jolie and Brad Pitt, among other celebrities, while also greeting fans who had gathered at the event.

On Tuesday morning, Rancic told Ryan Seacrest that December 12 will be her last day of work before she undergoes the procedure.

She then plans to take two weeks off to recover.

The TV personality has inspired celebrities and fans alike with her positivity throughout her ordeal.

Six weeks after revealing she has breast cancer, Giuliana Rancic says she now plans to undergo a double mastectomy.

The E! host appeared with her husband Bill on the “Today” show Monday morning, and told Anne Curry she plans to have both breasts surgically removed and then reconstructed.

Rancic underwent a double lumpectomy in late October, but the procedure failed to clear the cancer.

She explained, “I have options. I’m choosing to get the mastectomy because I believe it will save my life.”

Rancic admits being worried about the physical results when she first considered the procedure, but was immediately reassured by her husband.

“But Bill told me, ‘I don’t care about the physical results. I just want you around for another 50 years. I need you healthy. I need you as my wife. I need you as a mother to our kids,’” she said.

And although she’s still “scared of the unknown,” she’s remaining positive through it all: ”I’ll be able to say that I survived something major and it’s made me stronger. I will be a better woman for it.”

Dennis Davern, who was the captain on the boat where Natalie Wood spent her final hours, has admitted to lying on a report about her 1981 drowning and now says he believes her husband, Robert Wagner, was responsible for the actress’ death.

Just hours after the L.A. Sheriff’s Department announced that they’d reopened the investigation into Wood’s demise, Davern appeared on the “Today Show.”

For thirty years, rumors have swirled about what actually happened on The Splendour, the boat being used by Wood, Wagner and Christopher Walken on the night when Wood died at just 43.

“I did lie on a report years ago,” Davern tells David Gregory, explaining that he was untruthful about “everything that took place that weekend.”

Gregory asks whether Wagner was responsible for Wood’s death.

He replies, “Yes, I would say so, yes.”

De Santis shared her experience on the “Today Show” on Tuesday.

She said Timberlake had a big smile on his face from the time they arrived, and that he was moved by the event.

“You could see he genuinely cared about what he saw… it was just a really good experience,” she told “Today” co-anchor Ann Curry.

Asked about getting Timberlake out on the dance floor, De Santis described the night as “bringing sexy back.”

Justin Bieber stopped by the “Today Show” on Friday morning and talked about his new Christmas album, “Under the Mistletoe,” his childhood, and even his voice changing, but the one thing that was real news was the singer himself confronting the paternity allegations made by Mariah Yeater.

While his rep issued a statement on Tuesday evening after news emerged about Yeater’s lawsuit, and the singer once vaguely tweeted about it, Bieber himself has not shot down the claim as clearly and strongly as this morning.

When “Today Show” anchor Matt Lauer asked him about the paternity suit, Bieber said: “None of those allegations are true… I know I’m going to be a target, but I’m never going to be a victim.”

He added, “It’s crazy people want to make up such false allegations… [to] set the record straight, none of it is true.”

Lauer then followed up with whether he knew Yeater, and The Biebs said point blank, “Never met the woman.”

On the heels of Kim Kardashian denying her wedding was made for TV cameras and that she only “married for love,” her mom Kris Jenner went on to the “Today” show and clarified a few misconceptions.

Jenner said Kardashian did not make money on the wedding, and that the much-discussed $2 million ring wasn’t worth nearly anything like that.

Kardashian’s mom said on the morning show the wedding “certainly wasn’t a sham. Certainly wasn’t something for TV. We have enough going on on our show that we don’t have to make things up.”

She added her daughter “really felt like she was in love with [Kris Humphries].”

According to Jenner, she had “no idea there was a problem at the time. It saddens all of us.”

As for the family profiting off the televised two-part wedding special, Jenner said it was “absolutely false,” though acknowledged that Kardashian made some money selling personal photos to E! to be used on-air.

“At the end of the day, Kim had to pay a great deal of money [for] the balance that was owed for the wedding which she was delighted to do because that was her fairy tale,” said Jenner.

The famous family’s momager also cleared up that ”it wasn’t a $2 million ring… It was less than half of that.”

Jenner noted that Kardashian, who is now in Australia, is “sick about [announcing her divorce]. She had to come out and say look, ‘I made a mistake and I feel terrible.’”

The “Today Show,” which every year goes full out for its anchors’ costumes, this year played off the Royal Wedding. Arriving in a Rolls Royce, Matt Lauer emerged as Prince William and Al Roker as his brother Prince Harry, complete in their ornate military uniforms.

Natalie Morales dazzled as Pippa Middleton.

Next were Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb as royal cousins Beatrice and Eugenie with their wild fascinators.

Ann Curry then emerged from her royal vehicle as the bride, Kate Middleton.

And just when everyone thought it was over, former “Today Show” anchor Meredith Vieira, with Corgis in tow, appeared as Queen Elizabeth.

It was Vieira’s first return to the show since leaving back in June.

She joked about her “royal boobs.”

Steven Tyler, who fainted in the shower of a Paraguay hotel on Tuesday, resulting in him losing two teeth and receiving a big gash above his right eye, got back on the stage on Wednesday night.

The singer wore sunglasses when he performed the concert’s first song with his band Aerosmith, but then took them off to reveal a black eye beneath his eyebrow (see right), where four stitches were needed to close up a deep cut.

In a phone call from Buenos Aires, Tyler told the “Today Show” on Thursday that the “crowd roared” when he removed his shades.

The Aerosmith frontman and “American Idol” judge had been suffering from food poisoning when the accident occurred. ”I started to get sick, and I just fell on my face… I just passed out,” he said on the morning show.

Tyler also explained that with the help of the American Embassy in Paraguay, he found the area’s best hospital, where he received “one-stop shopping.”

“They stitched up my eye. They did a little plastic surgery. And they fixed my tooth. All in one fell swoop,” he said.

Tyler also acknowledged how it was understandable, having a history of drug and alcohol abuse, that people would think his shower fall may have been tied to a relapse.

“That is natural and normal,” he told the “Today Show,” adding, ”I get that people think that… It still bothers me a little, but it’s something that I have to deal with for the rest of my life.”

Nicole Polizzi visited the “Today Show” on Tuesday to tell Matt Lauer about her new book, Confessions of a Guidette.

She also tried to separate herself (a bit) from what she calls her more famous “party side” – Snooki.

After Polizzi defines what it means to be a “guidette” (“a girl with a strong personality, she doesn’t let anyone bring her down, she likes tanning, she’s very independent, and she loves to be flashy”), Lauer asks her whether “Jersey Shore” viewers ever get to see the “real” person.

“I think you see more of the party side of me, which I call ‘Snooki,’ that’s like kind of my alter ego, that’s what you see on the show,” she explains, whereas Nicole herself is more of a “calm, business ready person.”

Asked whether she thinks she’s a role model, Polizzi states emphatically that “Snooki” is “definitely not” one, but that the “strong, independent [and] lovable” Polizzi could be.

The Kardashians — Khloe, Kourtney, Kim, and Kris and Bruce Jenner – will step in for Kathie Lee Gifford next week and co-host the fourth hour of the “Today Show” with Hoda Kotb.

Each day, a different family member will sit alongside Kotb.

On Monday, Khloe will co-host. Bruce Jenner will fill in on Tuesday, followed on Wednesday by his wife Kris.

Kourtney will have co-host duties on Thursday, and Kim will sit in with Kotb on Friday to talk about her recent wedding to Kris Humphries, as well as show a clip from her upcoming E! special, “Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event.”

We wonder if the Kardashians will be keeping up with Kotb’s morning boozing.

Brad Pitt has taped a “Today Show” interview in which he responds to the controversy over his comments about Jennifer Aniston in Parade magazine.

The Moneyball star is quoted in Parade as saying that he started to feel “pathetic” in the 1990s, and that he was “trying to pretend the marriage [to Aniston] was something that it wasn’t,” comments widely interpreted as insensitive given his effusive praise for Angelina Jolie in the same interview.

Pitt tries to set the record straight with “Today” anchor Matt Lauer in a conversation set to air Thursday morning.

“I don’t know what was pieced together or put together,” says the actor. “All I know is that my point was, the best thing I’d done as a father is be sure that my kids have a good mother.”

“That’s all I was, or am, trying to say. It has no reference to the past. And I think it’s a shame that I can’t say something nice about Angie without Jen being drug in,” adds Pitt. “You know, she doesn’t deserve it.”

Later, he adds, “I don’t want them to say anything bad like that about Jen. She’s a dear friend of mine.”

When Lauer asks whether Aniston called Pitt after the quotes surfaced, Pitt says no.

“No. But she’s also a seasoned veteran and she knows… she’s a valuable person,” he says. “We spent seven years together. Come on.”

Pitt says the constant tabloid speculation about his relationship with Jolie, mostly focused on the wedding/split news cycle is something he tries to avoid. “I live outside of that,” says Pitt, “and it’s much healthier.”

Casey Anthony‘s parents, George and Cindy, sat down with Dr. Phil for an exclusive interview about the events surrounding the death of their granddaughter Caylee, and an excerpt of it was aired this morning on the “Today Show.”

In the clips, Dr. Phil presses Cindy about an odd MySpace message she posted which read, “My Caylee is missing.” What makes that message particularly noteworthy is that Cindy posted it on July 3, a full 12 days before Caylee was reported missing.

So, did Cindy already know about Caylee’s disappearance?

In the excerpt, she says, ”Caylee was missing in my heart that day. She wasn’t missing physically, but I thought I knew where she was at.” Cindy adds, “I wanted Casey to know how much she was hurting me, and I thought she was purposely keeping Caylee away from me.”

Dr. Phil also confront the Anthonys about the foul odor emanating from Casey’s trunk, and what they thought it was.

“Truthfully, to this day, I don’t know, to be honest,” says Cindy.

George responds, “Do I want to believe Caylee was back there? I don’t want to believe it. I’m going by what investigators have told me. All I know is that Caylee is not with us anymore. I know that.”

And when questioned about whether George knew more about Caylee’s whereabouts, Cindy says, ”George would have never have put us through those six months of not knowing where Caylee was if he knew where Caylee was. I watched his heart break every single day, and I watched him as frantic as he was.”

“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” stars Kyle Richards, Lisa Vanderpump and Adrienne Maloof broke their silence on the suicide of Russell Armstrong today.

The ladies appeared on the “Today” show this morning with “RHOBH” executive producer Douglas Ross to discuss the tragedy ahead of the show’s season premiere tonight.

As for how Taylor Armstrong is coping with her estranged husband’s death, Maloof said, “She was very beside herself. I think her concern is her little girl now. It’s heartbreaking.”

“We spent a couple of evenings with her this week,’ said Vanderpump. “She’s trying to digest everything.”

Richards called Armstrong’s suicide a “complete shock.”

“I always saw him as being reserved and quiet. I knew that they had their issues,” she said, adding, “But no one could have anticipated something like that.”

The ladies also denied rumors that they’d been pressured by Bravo to create drama on the series.

Vanderpump said, “We lead and they [the producers] follow. We kind of create and they document. I’ve never felt any responsibility to bring drama.”

Richards said she didn’t think the show pushed Armstrong over the edge, noting, “He also signed up for this, season one… and came back for season two.”

As for downplaying Armstrong’s presence on the show, Ross said he does not appear in “the first few episodes that we’ve completed editing,” but added, “It is important to know that Taylor’s story is told throughout the season.”

All of the “Housewives” except Taylor taped a sit-down that addresses Armstrong’s suicide in late August. The special will air prior to the show’s 9 p.m. premiere tonight.

Alex Trebek recounted his dramatic encounter with a burglar during a “Today Show” interview this morning.

“I woke up and saw a figure in our hotel bedroom, and I thought I was dreaming,” says the “Jeopardy!” host.

“I realized immediately that someone had been in the room, and I put on my underwear and ran down the hall to see if I could find her.”

When Trebek caught up with the culprit, Lucinda Moyers, she insisted she hadn’t been in his room but was “visiting friends.”

She was later arrested by San Francisco police.

Trebek, meanwhile, injured his Achilles tendon in the fracas, but will be OK.

Charlie Sheen is “not the person I met and fell in love with,” said Denise Richards during an interview on the “Today Show” this morning.

“The man I fell in love with is very compassionate, humble [and] has a wonderful heart,” the actress tells Matt Lauer. “And the behavior that a lot of us saw in the last six months is not the person I met and fell in love with.”

While Richards, who just adopted a baby girl, says she and her family are happy, she acknowledges that she was forced to have a conversation with her older daughters about their father’s drug use.

“As far as the media, I shield them completely, but there were a few things they would hear through other kids,” says Richards of Sam and Lola.

“I did have to have a conversation with them about addiction and got a book to read to them because I was just lying to them so much and covering up and telling lies, and it was just getting too confusing.”

Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis appeared on the “Today Show” this morning to promote their film, Friends with Benefits, but they got a bit raunchy when discussing the Marine Corps Balls that they were both invited to.

As you’ll recall, Kunis said she’d attend a Marine Ball with Sgt. Scott Moore, who asked her out via YouTube. Similarly, Timberlake agreed to be Marine Kelsey De Santis‘s date at her event in Washington, D.C.

On the “Today Show,” however, it all went to hell when Kunis explained that she and Timberlake would be attending different Marine galas.

She told NBC’s Lester Holt, “It’s two separate balls… There are multiple balls… Marines have a lot of balls.” Timberlake then chimed in, “We want to pay honor to our county and embrace their balls.”

Not leaving it alone, Kunis said, “We’re attending both balls,” before adding, “How many ball references can we make?”

After wreaking havoc on the set of the “Today Show,” Nadya Suleman‘s kids reportedly led to an airplane fight between the Octomom and actress Kristen Johnston.

The “3rd Rock From the Sun” star supposedly asked Suleman to control her noisy children on a delayed flight from New York to Los Angeles.

Suleman reportedly replied, “How would you like me to keep eight 2-year-olds quiet?” according to TMZ.

Johnston then suggested Suleman “Get more help!” to which the Octomom is quoted as saying, “Why don’t you grow a baby and get a life!”

The site reports that Johnston eventually got off the plane, which was stuck on the ground for two hours.

“I guess there’s some people that don’t like kids,” Suleman said to photographers upon landing in Los Angeles.

As she told Ann Curry yesterday, the Octomom now supports her family through personal appearances and boxing matches.

No word yet on whether she and Johnston plan to lace up the gloves.

Hulk Hogan‘s ex-wife Linda Hogan was on the “Today Show” this morning, and told Matt Lauer that she lived in fear and thought her wrestler husband would kill her.

While discussing her book, ”Wrestling the Hulk: My Life Against the Ropes,” Lauer read a passage in which Linda Hogan writes that Hulk “tore my shirt. He threw lamps. He held me down on the bed with his hands around my throat during arguments, slamming doors, pounding walls. I was always afraid he would kill me in one of his rages.”

The “Today Show” host then followed up by asking Linda if Hulk ever felt sorry for this alleged behavior, to which she responded, “He did not feel remorse, and to this day he’s never apologized for any of his actions… I did not want to be a statistic like Nicole Simpson.”

Linda further explained the reason she never told authorities was that she “was afraid to say something.”

Matt Lauer‘s interview with Lindsay Lohan fell apart at the last minute, after Lauer flew to California late Tuesday to sit down with the actress at her Venice residence, where she’s under house arrest.

At issue was the length of the interview, which NBC had planned to spread out, with segments on both the “Today Show” and “Dateline.”

According to some reports, after finding out the sit-down would be more than 15 minutes and arguing with producers, Lohan pulled the plug.

Was that really the case?

“I did no such thing,” she tells Gossip Cop.

In fact, it was Lohan’s publicist, Steve Honig, who ended the taping before it began and told Lauer’s team it wasn’t going to happen.

“I was the one who made the decision to shut down the interview,” Lohan’s rep tells us, stressing, “Lindsay would have done the interview.”
