NBC is developing a spin-off from “The Office.”

The new series would focus around Rainn Wilson’s character Dwight Schrute and his family’s bed & breakfast and beet farm.

The premise will be introduced in an “Office” episode slated to air later this year.

The spin-off, if picked up as a series, would likely air in early 2013.

Deadline was first to report the news.

Jenna Fischer and husband Lee Kirk have welcomed a new baby, her rep confirms to Gossip Cop.

“The Office” star gave birth to a boy, named Weston Lee, on September 24.

It’s their first child.

The couple wed in July 2010, and Fischer announced her pregnancy in May.

Will Ferrell is all over the place.

Last night, Ferrell made his debut on “The Office,” and today there’s a trailer for his Spanish-language (that’s right) comedy Casa de mi Padre.

Diego Luna and Gael Garcia Bernal also star in the film, which spoofs telenovelas and features English subtitles.

Johnny Depp will appear on Ricky Gervais‘ new sitcom, “Life’s Too Short,” confirms the comedian.

Writing on his blog, Gervais confirmed Depp’s participation while debunking a rumor that Jerry Seinfeld was set to guest star.

The show, about a talent agency for dwarves and its abrasive manager, will air on HBO and BBC2. It comes from Gervais and his longtime collaborator Stephen Merchant.

Meanwhile, Gervais and Will Arnett are set to guest star on the season finale of “The Office” on May 19.

Steve Carell is attached to star in Dogs of Babel, a drama about a man who loses his wife and looks for answers.

The movie will be adapted from the book of the same name by Carolyn Parkhurst.

In the story, a linguistics professor returns home one day to find his wife dead in their backyard, with the couple’s dog as the only witness. The grieving husband attempts to teach the dog to talk to uncover what really happened.

Carell has begun to film his final episodes as Michael Scott on “The Office.”

The Office has a new staffer.

Cody Horn will fill one of the new roles created after Steve Carell‘s iconic Michael Scott character leaves the hit series later this season.

“We’re very excited to have found Cody,” says executive producer Paul Lieberstein, who also plays Toby Flenderson on the show.

“We’ve been searching for a love interest for Creed for a long time,” Lieberstein jokes to TVLine. “So just sit back and get ready to be disgusted.”

Model-turned-actress Horn has appeared on “Rescue Me,” and in movies like Flipped.

As Gossip Cop reported last month, Will Ferrell will do a four-episode arc to help smooth Carell’s exit from the show.

Will Ferrell will do a four-episode arc on “The Office” to help smooth Steve Carell‘s exit from the series, Gossip Cop confirms.

He will play a manager who comes to the Scranton branch and turns out to be just as inappropriate as Carell’s character.

Ferrell will do at least one episode after Carell leaves the show.

Ricky Gervais will make a cameo appearance on “The Office” in the episode airing on January 27.

Details about the Golden Globes host’s spot are not known, but the cameo has been shot already, with Gervais reprising his character David Brent.

Gervais created the original British “The Office,” where Brent filled the boss role Steve Carell plays in the American version.

If you thought Ricky Gervais was tough when he hosted the Golden Globes last year, you may want to brace yourself for Sunday’s show.

Gervais, who’s hosting the award show for the second consecutive year, is on “Ellen” today. He tells Ellen DeGeneres he’s already picked out a few “targets” for his barbs.

Such as?

“Charlie Sheen has obviously put his head above the power pit. Like last year, Mel Gibson was a gift from the comedy god. So yeah, that’d be two good people out of the audience,” notes Gervais.

In response to DeGeneres asking, “Do you worry about anyone coming after you after you do it?” Gervais explains, ”I only go for the weak and the feeble.”

That’s why “I’m not going to have a go at Russell Crowe or Mickey Rourke,” says Gervais, before adding, “Mickey Rooney maybe. Betty White, I’m not scared of her.”

The first wave of presenters for the upcoming Emmy Awards was just announced and, as expected, there’s no shortage of star power.

Nominees Matthew Morrison (“Glee”), January Jones (“Mad Men”), Sofia Vergara (“Modern Family”), and Julianna Margulies (“The Good Wife”), as well as Emmy winner Ricky Gervais and “The Office” star John Krasinski, are all slated to take the stage.

More names will be announced in advance of the live coast-to-coast broadcast on August 29.

As Gossip Cop previously reported, reality star Kate Gosselin is expected to join host Jimmy Fallon for the opening act.

“The Office” star John Krasinski and Emily Blunt were married on Saturday at the luxurious Villa D’este in Como, Italy.

Krasinski’s Leatherheads co-star George Clooney and girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis were in attendance at the private ceremony.

Krasinki and Blunt, who starred in The Devil Wears Prada, were staying for the past week at Clooney’s Lake Como villa.

The newlyweds dated for about a year before Krasinski popped the question last summer.

“The Office” star Jenna Fischer tied the knot this past weekend.

On Saturday, Fischer married Pants on Fire writer/actor Lee Kirk, her boyfriend of two and a half years.

Fischer’s co-star Rainn Wilson later tweeted, “Went to the most beautiful wedding I’ve ever experienced. Total Love, Jenna Fischer & Lee Kirk!”

This is the second marriage for Fischer, who was married to Scooby-Doo writer James Gunn.

Big names like Brad Pitt, Jim Carrey, Amy Poehler and Lisa Kudrow were among the top winners of this year’s Webby Awards, which honors creative uses of the Internet.

The website for Pitt’s “Make It Right” foundation, which has provided aid to victims of Katrina and helped rebuild portions of New Orleans, was recognized in the Activism category while Carrey’s official site won both a Webby award and a People’s Voice award in the celebrity/fan category.

Poehler earned a Special Achievement Award for acting in her webseries, “Smart Girls at the Party.” And Kudrow’s own online series, “Family Therapy,” was feted in the comedy long form or series category.

The awards ceremony will take place June 14, hosted by “The Office” star B.J. Novak.

“Can You Believe John Krasinski Beat Out Kellan Lutz For The Role Of Captain America?” asks HollywoodLife.

The site further steps in it when it goes on to question, “What the heck, Hollywood? How could you pick John Krasinski over Kellan Lutz?!”

But HollywoodLife wasn’t the only accuracy-challenged site to wrongly cast Krasinski as the American flag-wearing Captain.

Hollyscoop blares in its headline, “John Krasinski to Play Captain America,” followed by the opening line of “John Krasinski is about to become a huge movie star!”

Added to this list of bad blogs, of course, is Perez Hilton, which reports, “John Krasinski is rumored to be Marvel’s top choice for the lead role in The First Avenger: Captain America to be released in the summer of 2011!”

All these inaccurate stories were based on an “exclusive” from Fox411, which stated, “‘Captain America’ role is John Krasinski’s to lose, source says.”

So, what do all these sites have is common?

(1) They’re all WRONG.

(2) None of them bothered to fact-check the story.

Actually, it’s took Gossip Cop longer to write this post than it did to verify whether or not it was true that Krasinski was tapped for “Captain America.”

According to Krasinski’s rep, stories of “The Office” star playing the superhero are “not true at all.”

“American Idol” judge, Simon Cowell, who also created “America’s Got Talent” and produces records, earned more than any other guy on TV. According to Forbes, from June 1, 2008 to June 1, 2009, Cowell raked in $75 million.

Next was Donald Trump, who earned $50 million from “The Apprentice,” book sales, and all the products – ranging from neckties to vodka – that he endorses.

In the number three spot is Ryan Seacrest. With his hosting radio and TV shows, among other endeavors, Seacrest amassed $38 million.

“Two and a Half Men” star Charlie Sheen made the combined salary of thousands of men with $21 million. And the fifth highest-earning guy on primetime was “The Office” star Steve Carell, who took in $20 million.

Rounding out the Top 10 were Howie Mandel ($15 million), Kiefer Sutherland ($13 million), Jeff Foxworthy ($11 million), Hugh Laurie ($10 million), and David Caruso ($9 million).
