A trailer just debuted for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

The HIGHLY anticipated fantasy-adventure from Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson tells the tale of Bilbo Baggins and features actors including Elijah Wood, Orlando Bloom, Cate Blanchett, Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Evangeline Lilly, Stephen Fry and Andy Serkis.

‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ will open on December 14, 2012.

‘The Hobbit: There and Back Again’ will open on December 13, 2013.

Peter Jackson has posted a 10-minute video taking viewers behind the scenes as filming begins on The Hobbit, the two-movie epic scheduled to hit theaters in 2012 and 2013.

Peter Jackson is in stable condition in the intensive care unit of a New Zealand hospital.

The “Lord of the Rings” director underwent surgery for a perforated ulcer last Wednesday after complaining of severe stomach pains.

A rep for Jackson said he was “doing well,” but would remain in Wellington Hospital for a few more days.
