Peter Jackson is in stable condition in the intensive care unit of a New Zealand hospital.

The “Lord of the Rings” director underwent surgery for a perforated ulcer last Wednesday after complaining of severe stomach pains.

A rep for Jackson said he was “doing well,” but would remain in Wellington Hospital for a few more days.
