Peter Jackson Denies 27 Animals Died From Mistreatment During Hobbit Filming


Peter Jackson and the producers of the upcoming Hobbit trilogy are denying a report that claims nearly 30 animals died from mistreatment during production of the highly-anticipated movies.

On Monday, the Associated Press reported that 27 animals died due to unsafe conditions on a New Zealand farm where they were kept while not on set in 2010 and 2011.

Stephen Colbert Reportedly Set for The Hobbit Cameo Appearance

Peter Jackson has posted a 10-minute video taking viewers behind the scenes as filming begins on The Hobbit, the two-movie epic scheduled to hit theaters in 2012 and 2013.

Peter Jackson ‘Doing Well’ After Surgery

Peter Jackson is in stable condition in the intensive care unit of a New Zealand hospital.

The “Lord of the Rings” director underwent surgery for a perforated ulcer last Wednesday after complaining of severe stomach pains.

A rep for Jackson said he was “doing well,” but would remain in Wellington Hospital for a few more days.
