The Five-Year Engagement

The Avengers Breaks Second Weekend Records, Earns $104 Million

(Marvel)

BOX OFFICE

America’s favorite superheroes continued to dominate the box office in historic fashion.

After shattering records with a $207 million opening, The Avengers earned $103 million in its second weekend, not only throttling the current box office competition, but also topping the previous Week 2 high marks of blockbusters Avatar and The Dark Knight.

Both of those movies took in $75 million in their second weekends — a figure The Avengers easily soared past.

(Sony)

Nabbing a close third was The Lucky One, which had $11.3 million in ticket sales.

The Five-Year Engagement Red-Band Trailer Starring Jason Segel & Emily Blunt

(Universal)

TRAILER

There’s a new red-band trailer for The Five-Year Engagement, starring Jason Segel and Emily Blunt as an engaged couple that just can’t seem to get married.

The comedy re-teams Segel with his Forgetting Sarah Marshall collaborator, Nicholas Stoller, and, like that movie, seems to delight in the awkward parts of a romantic relationship.
