Kaley Cuoco, who just got engaged, has another big date on the horizon.

“The Big Bang Theory” star will host the People’s Choice Awards on January 11, 2012.

Cuoco had hosting duties at last August’s Teen Choice Awards.

As it happens, she’s been part of two series – “8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter” and “The Big Bang Theory” – that have won People’s Choice Awards in the past.

Queen Latifah hosted the 2011 ceremony.

Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner are “on again!” reports Star magazine, which claims the former couple is “back together behind the scenes.”

The mag says Lautner and Swift, who reconnected at the Teen Choice Awards on August 7, “first got together several weeks ago over the phone and e-mail after Taylor [Lautner] reached out to her.”

According to a supposed ”insider” for the tabloid, ”He’s been down in the dumps because his relationship with Lily Collins is cooling off,” and “always felt terrible about the way things ended” with Swift, whom he split from in 2009 after a three month relationship.

“Taylor wants a second chance with her,” adds the source, noting that Swift has agreed to give their romance “another go.”

But don’t hold your breath waiting for these two to announce they’re back together.

Even though they’ve remained friends since their break-up, a source close to Swift tells Gossip Cop they are NOT dating again, and that the Star story is untrue.

Once again, the tab is wrong and wrong about Taylor and Taylor.

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are “on the rocks,” reports In Touch, which claims the young couple’s romance is already “fizzling out!”

The mag says the singers are “growing apart” because Gomez is “becoming more popular and mainstream” while Bieber “remains trapped in his teeny bopper mold.”

According to “insiders” for the tabloid, Gomez “has her eye on the much edgier Shia LaBeouf,” and Bieber has been “texting his ex-girlfriend Jasmine Villegas.”

“It appears they’ve outgrown their puppy-love romance,” adds the supposed “insider.”

Oh, please.

Gomez met LaBeouf all of one time, and he’s in a relationship with stylist Karolyn Pho. Villegas also has a boyfriend.

Additionally, Bieber and Gomez appeared just the opposite of rocky at the Teen Choice Awards last Sunday. They were kissing and holding hands throughout the evening, and when Gomez performed, The Biebs sang along with her from the audience.

In any case, a source assures Gossip Cop that Bieber and Gomez are “still going strong.”

In Touch, however, remains trapped in an alternate reality.

“The Big Bang Theory” star Kaley Cuoco will host the 13th annual “Teen Choice Awards.”

One Republic and Selena Gomez & The Scene are slated to perform at the show.

Among the many stars set to attend the ceremony are Justin Bieber, Taylor Lautner, Kim Kardashian, Victoria Justice, Ashton Kutcher, Rebecca Black, Ashley Greene and Zooey Deschanel.

Fox also announced the nominees for its final voting category, Best Vampire: Nina Dobrev, Robert Pattinson, Alexander Skarsgard, Paul Wesley, Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder.

We’ve tried to follow the logic here, but it just makes us dizzy.

On Tuesday, a magazine story picked up by Showbiz Spy reported that Kristen Stewart had suffered a “breakdown” in Montreal.

Supposedly, the turmoil came about because the actress “can’t handle” her fame and “refused” to go to the Teen Choice Awards. She “didn’t want to have to face the media spotlight yet again,” alleged the report.

The so-called “breakdown” was, of course, nonsense.

Flash forward two days.

“Kristen Stewart is jealous of her Twilight costar Ashley Greene!” bellows Showbiz Spy.

Um, ok.

And what’s the explanation for this alleged jealousy?

“Sources say Kristen is furious that Ashley has been getting so much positive praise during promotional tours,” claims the site. According to one so-called “insider,” “Ashley has turned out to be the real favorite with Twilight fans.”

Leaving aside that bizarre assertion, how can the same site claim that Stewart hates the media spotlight so much she’s skipping appearances and is insanely jealous of the attention the media gives to one of her co-stars?

Here’s food for thought: Doesn’t it seem like the media is a LOT more obsessed with Kristen Stewart’s opinion of it than the other way around?

After a few days of invasive Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart coverage, it’s nice to see outlets getting back to good old-fashioned wrong reporting.

According to a British magazine Showbiz Spy cites, Pattinson’s recent visit to Montreal was meant to help Stewart get through a “breakdown.”

An anonymous “source” for the tabloid claims Stewart “can’t handle” her fame and “refused to go to this year’s Teen Choice Awards.”

“She’s filming On The Road in Montreal and could have gone,” continues the mag, “but didn’t want to have to face the media spotlight yet again.” Supposedly, Pattinson “knew that she was going through a hard time,” and flew immediately to Canada to “boost her spirits.”

Oh, but the magazine insists this “crisis” has been going for a long time. Its source alleges Stewart “has been at the breaking point ever since they finished filming Eclipse.”

Let’s all take some deep breaths and return to reality.

Kristen Stewart did not have a “breakdown.”

While it’s true that Stewart didn’t attend the Teen Choice Awards because of On The Road obligations, it’s just as true that she’s routinely made appearances in the months since Eclipse closed production. In fact, she presented a preview of that very film at the MTV Movie Awards.

Stewart has been in the public eye for years. Her discomfort with some aspects of celebrity is well documented, but that’s all it is: discomfort. There was no sudden panic while shooting On The Road. There was no cross-continent rescue mission for Pattinson.

But tabs feel the need to drum up drama instead of reporting what the Montreal trip actually was — a perfectly happy visit. It’s too bad that crisis sells.

“Sandra to Leering Levi: ‘Get Away From Me!’” reads a PopEater headline about Sandra Bullock and Levi Johnston.

Huh?

According to the site’s “insider,” Bristol Palin‘s ex attempted to cozy up to the Oscar winner at Sunday’s Teen Choice Awards.

“All night long Levi was trying to get close to Sandra,” alleges the source. “He desperately wanted to get his picture taken with Sandra hoping it would show up on the cover of a magazine or at least be able to meet her in person and give America’s sweetheart his phone number.”

Unfortunately for Johnston,  “Sandra was having none of it, telling everyone, ‘Get him away from me,’” claims PopEater’s spy.

Really?

Uh… NO.

“Never happened,” Bullock’s rep assures Gossip Cop.

Gossip Cop also called a number of sources at the awards show, and not one could verify the Johnston-Bullock claim.

Once again, PopEater eats crow.

We’ll give this to Perez Hilton: When it comes to being mean, patronizing and careless, no one is more efficient.

In a scant 62 words, the blogger manages to insult Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, the English language, and his readers’ intelligence.

Hilton posts a normal photo of Pattinson from last night’s Teen Choice Awards, describes him as having a “Stewie Puss Puss face on,” and speculates, “What did that bitch do now?”

Charming.

According to Hilton, Pattinson “didn’t look to (sic) happy” about being by himself at the ceremony. “His hair doesn’t look did, he looks more disshelved (sic) than usual and what is up with the King Spencer creeper beard???”

Actually, Pattinson looks like… well, Pattinson.

And despite Hilton’s comparison, we’re not really seeing the Spencer Pratt similarity.

Of course, the blogger once said Pattinson looked like an Avatar character. At least he’s on the right planet now.

As for the cheap shot at Stewart, the only sourpuss in this story is Hilton.

“The Twilight Saga: New Moon” opens tonight (have you heard?), and in light of Robert Pattinson being “confronted” (in good fun) on “The Today Show” this morning with a series of crazy rumors, Gossip Cop decided to compile a little trip down memory lane with our Top 20 Wrong “Twilight” Rumors from the last few speculation-saturated months.

Another publication, another absurd “Twilight” tale.

The National Enquirer reports that Robert Pattinson faced down an angry Kristen Stewart at the Teen Choice Awards when Stewart accused him of having the hots for co-“Choice Hottie” winner Megan Fox.

“You’re into Megan Fox!” Stewart reportedly blurted, adding, “I saw how you put your arm around her waist . . . I saw the way you touched her!”

Um, everyone saw them. It was on television. (And they were being cordial winners.)

Nevertheless, the Enquirer claims an exasperated Pattinson allegedly shot back at Stewart, “Oh, for Pete’s sake! She’s just a friend.”

Megan Fox’s rep, who was on the scene, tells Gossip Cop, “There’s nothing to this story.”

And that’s exactly what Gossip Cop feels, but when false stories start spreading like wildfire, we respond by dousing them with truth.

The week began with “Twilight” stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart spotted together all over Los Angeles, most notably taking in concerts and hanging out at hotels. Gossip Cop then busted a silly Star story that said Stewart was in a love triangle with Pattinson and co-star Taylor Lautner. But the most absurd RPatz rumor of the week had him engaged to a mystery woman. Controversy erupted later when Jennie Garth, the wife of “Twilight” star Peter Facinelli, allegedly leaked that Pattinson and Stewart were dating. Gossip Cop got to the bottom of the story and revealed that the New York Daily News had made up a quote implying the romantic reality of ‘Robsten.’ We also had a bit about a possible role for Patttinson, given to us by director Brett Ratner.

“Twilight” co-star Ashley Greene also got herself some publicity this week, both from leaked naked photos and for pictures of her making out with “Gossip Girl” star Chace Crawford en route to LAX airport.

Gossip Cop also had hysterical footage of Crawford and “Gossip Girl” co-star Ed Westwick dealing with a pesky paparazzo’s ridiculous questions when they arrived at JFK airport in New York.

This week Gossip Cop had an exclusive from Lindsay Lohan that, contrary to reports, gal pal Samantha Ronson did not stage an intervention to force the “Mean Girls” star into counseling. Lohan told Gossip Cop that story was “incorrect.”

Jessica Simpson was the subject of a series of absurd stories in Star this week. One had her dating ex-boyfriend Tony Romo’s rival quarterback, Colt Brennan of the Washington Redskins. But the piece that really triggered a war between Simpson and the tabloid was an article claiming that she was going to write a tell-all about past romances, and that her dad was trying to peddle the book for $5 million. The story was complete nonsense, and Gossip Cop exclusively got its hands on a letter from Simpson’s lawyer demanding a retraction from the Star.

Gossip Cop also pointed out a ludicrous story in which the National Enquirer said Kirstie Alley had only four more years to live. Alley thanked us on Twitter for our story.

Reports had Britney Spears engaged. Not true. And Gossip Cop also corrected a story this week that Spears’ ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake was moving to Connecticut. Instead, we had footage of Timberlake being harassed by the paparazzi in Los Angeles, where he, um… lives.

George Clooney is no fan of the paparazzi, specifically an Italian photographer, whom he’s suing for climbing onto his property in Lake Como and taking invasive pictures, including one of a friend’s 13-year-old daughter changing in one of his villa’s bedrooms.

We were happy to confirm that “American Idol” runner-up Adam Lambert was helping winner Kris Allen with songs for his upcoming album. And in other “Idol” chatter, we corrected reports that had Victoria Beckham taking on full-time judging duties on the hit show.

Gossip Cop covered the Teen Choice Awards with red-hot red carpet photos and footage of Robert Pattinson having a “hairy” time. Like any good rumor cop, we also polled readers about Miley Cyrus’ pole dancing at the show. Speaking of Cyrus, Gossip Cop put to rest rumors that she would star in the “Sex and the City” sequel.

And what would a week be without Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie dish? Despite the incessant rumors of a break-up, Gossip Cop had an array of photos showing the couple happy together at the Hollywood premiere of “Inglourious Basterds.”

As the tabs continue to mix and match “Twilight” romances, Star hits upon a new one this week: Taylor Lautner has “set his sights” on Kristen Stewart, creating what would be an earth-shaking ‘love triangle’ with Robert Pattinson.

According to Star’s source, the 17-year-old Lautner “definitely has a crush on Kristen,” who still “treats him like a little brother.” The mag says the two were “inseparable” during the Teen Choice Awards this week, and one of the weekly’s sources says that Pattinson “is really nervous that Kristen will fall for Taylor’s charms.”

So could Taylor be the wedge that ends the rumored “Robsten” once and for all?

Still there are some who are reporting that Spears will be performing, including blogs that don’t fact-check like Perez Hilton, who just posted the screaming headline, “Britney To Perform At Teen Choice Awards!”

Hilton, who’s often inaccurate and a little late,  even said his information was “confirmed” before nastily saying, “Make sure your vocal track is cued up correctly though Brit Brit. You don’t want to pull an Asslee Simpson on stage.”

Spears is also nominated for three awards, including best single. Spears has a good shot at winning for “Circus,” but Hilton is still the biggest clown.
