“Taylor Swift Still Crushing on Taylor Lautner? Seems So!!” writes HollywoodLife as it once again careens off journalism’s cliff.

The site, which is making us arthritic from all our corrections, now has a doozy about Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner.

“Hey Taylor Lautner, your former squeeze, Taylor Swift may be ready for a round 2!” excitedly exclaims HollywoodLife.

Why would they claim this?

When Swift was asked by Elle magazine, whose April cover she graces, who she thought was hot, the singer replied “Um, well… Taylor Lautner.”

The Swift response caused HollywoodLife to lose its mind and announce, “That’s a pretty public declaration of interest from the 19 year-old.”

No, it’s not!

Elle interviewed the award-winning singer before she and the “Twilight” hunk broke up in late December, which is why that answer made sense then, but does not now.

How would HollywoodLife know the interview took place months ago (before making their ridiculous assumption)?

Well, they could (1) fact-check or (2) read the article itself, which clearly noted that the interview was done on December 10, about two weeks before the couple split up.

Nah, that would take all the fun out of their guesses and messes.

In Touch has very cool photos in an article titled, “A Cool Penthouse,” about Taylor Swift’s new place in Nashville.

Unfortunately, the reporting is more than cool — it’s cold.

The four-page feature has picture after picture of Taylor’s bedroom, her kitchen and her dining room. 

One slight hitch: The pictures are NOT of Taylor’s home.

Whoops.

In fact, her place is still under construction.

Also, In Touch has Swift quoted talking about the place. For instance, the tabloid writes, “‘I’m so excited!’ says Taylor of the 4,062-square-foot, three bedroom home she recently purchased.” Well, she may be “excited,” but she didn’t talk to In Touch recently about her new place.

A source close to the multi-award winning singer tells Gossip Cop, “She didn’t speak to them,” and “those are not photos of her condo.”

Sometimes In Touch is just out of touch.

Gossip Cop is amused by HollywoodLife’s strategy of throwing EVERYTHING against the wall and seeing what sticks.

Just days after saying, “we know a cute couple when we see one!” about Taylor Swift and Cory Monteith, and even asking readers to vote on “a couple” name for them, such as “Cortay” and “Swifteith,” HollywoodLife has done a complete turnaround and now claims, “Cory is just a decoy. She isn’t really dating him. They’re friends.”

Huh?

But we like the name “Swifteith”…

Instead, the site now proclaims that “Taylor Swift is ‘definitely dating’ John Mayer.”

“Definitely” is what they say – today. (We’ll see about tomorrow.)

But just in case they’re wrong about that as well, HollywoodLife now has a so-called “source,” who says Mayer and Swift, “aren’t ‘boyfriend and girlfriend’ or anything as provincial as that, but they have taken their friendship to the next level.”

For those who are confused, here’s the correct usage of the word “definitely”: Swift and Monteith have definitely gone on dates, and the singer has also definitely hung out with John Mayer, but HollywoodLife definitely has very little information about Swift’s personal life.

As you may or may not know, while posing with her four Grammy Awards after the telecast two nights ago, Taylor Swift dropped one of her trophies, which broke into pieces.

Oops.

But no need to worry for the young singing sensation. Swift doesn’t need to repair or replace it.

The Grammys she posed with weren’t her own. They were stand-in statuettes that winners are given to take pictures with. The real ones, engraved with her name on them, won’t arrive in Nashville for a few weeks.

Gossip Cop is told the guy who stacked them in her arms for pictures didn’t balance them too well.

And while Swift was momentarily concerned about busting a Grammy, we hear the photographers there told her not to feel bad since the same thing also happened to Mary J. Blige.

Not only were Taylor Swift and “Glee” star Cory Monteith hanging out together at Clive Davis‘ annual pre-Grammy party on January 30 — and sharing dinner a few nights earlier at Jerry’s Deli in L.A. — but a source in the know confirms to Gossip Cop that the two young stars “have been on a few dates.” 

Gossip Cop would like to warn, however, that it’s a tad early to start buying gifts from a registry. 

Shortly after Swift’s Grammy wins, including “Album of the Year,” she flew off to Australia, where she’ll be performing Thursday night at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.

HollywoodLife has done it again — fabricating drama, where there never was any in the first place.

The blog ran a headline, “EXCLUSIVE! Joe Jonas & Taylor Swift’s Awkward Red Carpet Encounter,” followed by the sentence, “We could feel the tension on the red carpet!”

Well, that story is “exclusive,” because no one else saw an “awkward red carpet encounter” at Clive Davis‘ annual pre-Grammys party. And it’s interesting the site reports that it “could feel the tension,” because a source on the scene says HollywoodLife’s reporter was “so far away” from Taylor Swift and Joe Jonas, they could barely see the meeting at all.

Making it more hilarious, HollywoodLife writes, “We tried to read their lips, but (sic) too distracted by their obvious body language: She kept her arms crossed while they hugged, then exchanged words in an obviously unnerving conversation while Joe kept his hands in his pockets… There’s no love lost between these two.”

While places like HollywoodLife report what they “feel,” and what they think they saw from afar, having “tried to read their lips,” Gossip Cop can tell you exactly what went down.

Multiple sources tell Gossip Cop the encounter was 100 percent friendly.

And one Gossip Cop source, who was less than a foot away, noted they hugged and their conversation was “very cordial. They’re fine. They talked for a few minutes,” adding, “it was not awkward.”

Only HollywoodLife should feel pretty awkward for such an inaccurate story.

“Kanye West will have the chance to let Taylor Swift finish on Monday,” claims AccessHollywood.com in a piece titled, “Taylor Swift & Kanye West To Team Up For ‘We Are The World’ Remake.”

The report, which got picked up everywhere, goes on to state, “A source has exclusively confirmed to Access Hollywood that the two musicians – who faced off in an infamous incident at last year’s MTV Video Music Awards — will be among those participating in Quincy Jones’ remake of the 1985 charity anthem, ‘We Are The World,’ at a recording session the day after the Grammys.”

One big problem: A Swift insider assures Gossip Cop that the Grammy-nominated singer will NOT be at the recording session.

In fact, Swift will be leaving Los Angeles immediately after the awards show, and traveling to Australia, where she will be performing a few days later in Brisbane.

The Grammy Awards, which air this Sunday on CBS, will feature a fundraising segment for Haiti relief, and so far what’s slated is a special duet with Mary J. Blige and Andrea Bocelli on the hit Simon and Garfunkel song, “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” 

After the show, the duet  will be available on iTunes and all proceeds from the sales will go to the American Red Cross to help those devastated by the earthquake.

Also slated to perform at the Grammys this year are Lady Gaga, the Dave Matthews Band, Beyonce, the Black Eyed Peas, and Taylor Swift, who are all nominated for Album of the Year.

The all-star “Hope for Haiti Now” telethon raised a record-setting $57 million — and that figure is still rising.

The two-hour telethon, which aired on every network and dozens upon dozen of other stations, drew the biggest names in showbiz to help the island nation, where an estimated 200,000 people died as a result of the January 12 earthquake.

The event was hosted by George Clooney in Los Angeles, Haiti native Wyclef Jean in New York, and featured poignant reports from Anderson Cooper in Haiti.

Among those manning the phones or giving presentations were Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Tom Hanks, Reese Witherspoon, Bill Clinton, Leonardo DiCaprio, Nicole Kidman, Robert Pattinson, Jennifer Aniston, Ellen Degeneres, and Matt Damon, to name a very few.

The fundraiser had several amazing performances by such artists including, Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Bono, Jay-Z, Rihanna, Sting, Jennifer Hudson, Sheryl Crow, Kid Rock, Keith Urban, Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, John Legend, and Shakira.

The money raised was a record, and yet it still doesn’t include donations from corporations or the performed songs that one can download from iTunes for 99 cents.
