“Britain’s Got Talent,” the show that brought us Susan Boyle, has now given us Lorna Bliss.

After being dismissed during auditions, Bliss, a very dedicated Britney Spears impersonator, somehow made it back to the show for a semi-finals performance.

No one seemed exactly clear on how or why Bliss was back, and her shot at redemption – during which she did Spears’ classics “I’m A Slave 4 U” and “Oops, I Did It Again” – did not go too well.

The judges panel of Simon Cowell, David Hasselhoff, Amanda Holden and Michael McIntyre made it clear that they are done with Bliss.

“Your performance was about as limp as your python,” concluded Cowell.

Simon Cowell may not be a wedding planner, but he has some ideas about potential entertainment for Kate Middleton‘s royal nuptials to Prince William.

“Susan Boyle [would be] perfect,” the talent competition titan tells “Extra.”

He added that Boyle could sing “I Dreamed A Dream,” the song she performed on “Britain’s Got Talent” before soaring to superstardom.

Cowell said he didn’t expect to be invited to the April 29, 2011 wedding, but gets along well with the royal family.

“I’m actually friends with Prince Harry,” says Cowell. “Well, I wouldn’t say friends, but he’s come down to the show ["The X Factor"]. He and I get along very well. He’s a very, very nice guy. I like him a lot.”

Another competition show, another Susan Boyle cancellation.

The “Britain’s Got Talent” runner-up was slated to perform Leonard Cohen‘s “Hallelujah” live tomorrow night on the “Dancing with the Stars” results show.

But once again, she’ll be a no-show.

A rep for “DWTS” confirms to Gossip Cop, “Her performance has been canceled,” and that they’re hoping to have her appear on the show later in the season.

The reason for the last-minute drop out was due to a sore throat.

You’ll recall, not too long ago a devastated Boyle bailed on “America’s Got Talent” after Lou Reed didn’t give permission to her to perform “Perfect Day.”

Last year, Boyle was on “Dancing with the Stars,” and sang “I Dreamed a Dream.”

Today sees the premiere of Simon Cowell‘s star-studded cover of “Everybody Hurts” to raise funds for relief efforts in Haiti.

Performers including Mariah Carey, Susan Boyle, Jon Bon Jovi, Rod Stewart, Miley Cyrus, Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams, and many others. The single, recorded in Los Angeles and London, will be available for digital download starting Sunday, February 7, and is already available for pre-order on British retailers such as Amazon.co.uk.

Proceeds go to the Helping Haiti fund.

The song premiered on BBC Radio 1 this morning. You can hear it below.

Simon Cowell 

The “American Idol” and “X-Factor” judge said he will likely use his own artists, including Susan Boyle and Leona Lewis, as well as other singers for the single.

“I don’t know who is available but I will get a record out … many good people are possible,” said Cowell.

The idea was at the urging of the British Prime Minister. ”[Prime Minister Gordon Brown] called me a couple of days ago and said if I put a record out he’d waive the VAT [Value Added tax],” Cowell told Sky News, adding, “It is not the best time. Logistically we’re all over the place, but we’ll make it happen.”

Cowell hopes to release the record in a week and a half.

Susan Boyle is living her dream and extremely grateful this Christmas.

She said, “I thank everyone for their kind messages, present and cards.”

In fact, the “Britain’s Got Talent” runner-up has so many cards, she said, “I can barely get in the door… Each and every one is so special and I’ve re-read them time and time again.”

Boyle added that she was overjoyed and humbled this Christmas by the success of her briskly selling album, “I Dream A Dream.” The singing sensation further gushed to the Daily Mirror, “It’s been an absolutely brilliant year and I can’t thank everyone enough for the support I’ve been given… I am the happiest I have ever been and truly enjoying myself. It’s been quite a year.”

“I’d like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. I’m looking forward to 2010 and all that it has to offer,” said Boyle.

“SuBo Tapped To Record Next Bond Song!” screams the headline in a piece today by Perez Hilton in which he reports, “Susan Boyle is in the running to record the next theme song for the upcoming James Bond movie with Daniel Craig, due out in 2011.”

He also says,  “Wow, she must be honored!”

More than that she’s probably surprised. But not nearly as surprised as those involved with the James Bond franchise. A source connected to the production tells Gossip Cop he “hasn’t heard anything like that at all.”

But Perez was more than double O wrong today.

Perez actually had a hat trick today, having gotten (so far) three stories WAY wrong. Earlier in the day, he mistakenly claimed that George Clooney went out on a date with Madonna (nope), and wrongly reported that Catherine-Zeta-Jones accidentally “flashed” the audience during a performance of her Broadway show, “A Little Night Music” (also nope).

No wonder Perez is so afraid of Gossip Cop.

Tonight, Susan Boyle’s special, “I Dreamed a Dream: The Susan Boyle Story” airs on the TV Guide Network at 8 p.m. EST, and she really has lived the dream this year.

Her musical talent has been recognized across the globe, and she currently holds the top spot on the Billboard charts for the second week in a row.

Having a TV special, she says, is “a very humbling experience. I loved every second of it. I finally feel like the dream is a reality.”

And though she’s attained worldwide fame, Boyle told People magazine, “my life hasn’t changed.”

“I still live in the same house,” she says, though “I travel more. I see places I never thought I would see. There is nothing I miss because I have everything I had before – it’s just a little more interesting now.”

But she does enjoy one particular perk of her new celebrity status: “I do like getting made up. When I have my hair done and my makeup and then put on one of my performance dresses, I do feel the part. And that feels good.”

Her one bit of advice? “You are never too old. It is never too late. And dreams can become a reality.”

And indeed they have for Boyle.

Susan Boyle may have lost “Britain’s Got Talent,” but she won the top spot AGAIN this week.

Boyle’s “I Dreamed A Dream” held the number one spot on the Billboard 200 for the second consecutive week.

To date, the album has sold an astounding 1.23 million copies since it was released two weeks ago, and it remains the fastest selling debut album. Another milestone for the shy Scottish singer: “I Dreamed a Dream” had highest second week sales for 2009 with 527,000 copies sold this past week. 

Not too shabby.

“There’s nothing worse than another person having power over you by bullying you and you not knowing how to get rid of that thing,” says Susan Boyle who, for the first time, has openly and bravely revealed the torture she endured as a child.

Now an international singing sensation, Boyle wasn’t only bullied by her classmates. She was also beaten by her own teachers, she says, because she was a “wee bit slower.”

“You’re looking at someone who would get the belt every day,” Boyle tells the Daily Mirror in advance of her album’s release next week. “There was discipline for the sake of discipline back then,” says Boyle, who acknowledges she was a “slow learner.” She adds, “It’s all very different now. I think teachers are taught to understand children with learning disabilities a lot better.”

Gossip Cop actually thinks she taught everyone a lesson or two. Boyle hasn’t just “Dreamed A Dream.” With record-breaking pre-order sales for her album, Boyle is now living it.

If you were blown away by Susan Boyle on “America’s Got Talent,” you’ll be equally impressed by her on “Dancing with the Stars.”

That’s right — Boyle is now slated to appear on the hit dancing show.

No, she won’t be doing the Lambada, the Merengue or even the Robot – damn! 

Boyle is heading to the U.S. for an appearance on “DWTS” early next week, and most likely she will sing a tune from her upcoming album, “I Dreamed A Dream,” which comes out on November 24.

Boyle is also beginning to enjoy her riches. She just bought a new matching leather couch and recliner, as well as a refrigerator for her small home in Blackburn, Scotland. Her brother John Boyle told People magazine, “Moneywise, she’s very frugal.”

Hopefully, she’ll remain generous with her talent, and make more U.S. appearances.

This past week started off with a smattering of poorly reported Perez Hilton pieces. We learned that Perez doesn’t just turn a blind eye to fact checking, apparently he has one, too. He actually compared handsome “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson to the blue creature from “Avatar.”

This week also marked the second anniversary of Perez’s “scoop” that Fidel Castro had died – he was, and continues to be, dead wrong. And we also pointed how Perez got it wrong both when he initially reported that Beyonce was being sued by a reality star, and how George Clooney broke his hand.

And while we’ve grown accustomed to Perez’s inaccuracies, we were a bit surprised by how legitimate news agencies like CNN, the New York Times, and the Washington Post dropped the ball this week.

On CNN’s “State of the Union,” Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman was asked about the possibility of Alec Baldwin running against him for his senate seat. The major media picked up on Lieberman’s “make my day” response, but it took Gossip Cop to alert the other news agencies that Baldwin’s non-serious challenge to Lieberman was, in fact, an old comment the “30 Rock” star made to Playboy, and one in which he also said he had no plans whatsoever to leave New York.

But it wasn’t just CNN. The venerable Chicago Tribune posted a video on its website of a man, bearing a resemblance to Michael Jackson, jumping out of an L.A. Coroner’s van, and posed the question whether the King of Pop was indeed possibly still alive.

And the New York Times, Washington Post and the BBC were among those who were completely misguided when reporting that Bob Dylan might voice GPS directions after the the “Jokerman” singer joked on his radio show that he was approached by auto manufacturers. Who’s laughing now? (Gossip Cop.)

In “Twilight Tales,” a story brewed that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart strolled through Vancouver to go out for coffee together. Gossip Cop filtered the fact out from the fiction. We also broke details about a second hard cover bookazine that Us Weekly is preparing about the Twilight Saga and its stars, slated to hit bookshelves around the time of the release of “New Moon” in November. And we’ve been all over the controversy of whether the Twilight Saga will be told in four or five films.

And once again stories surfaced that Pattinson and Stewart were moving in together. This time the yarn that was spun had Stewart buying a $3 million “love nest” in L.A. for them. Not true.

Miss Information: This week while it was true that Madonna was booed in Romania for speaking her mind about the treatment of that nation’s Gypsies, it was totally false that she’s training for a six-day, 151-mile marathon through the Sahara desert.

Katie Holmes was again the subject of several inaccurate stories. The tabs wrongly reported that she’s happier when she’s away from Tom Cruise, whom they also claimed controls her diet and career choices. There was also a tale that she’s designing “uniforms” for the Church of Scientology – it’s uniformly not true.

And with Lindsay Lohan’s burglarized home came a slew of stories claiming she had “incriminating videos” and more than $2 million in borrowed jewels stolen from her safe. Her rep told Gossip Cop than neither rumor was accurate. Another Lohan story, not based in reality, had her looking to star in a reality series about her own “trials and tribulations” finding work as an actress. Gossip Cop found no truth to that either.

Wrong Romance: The rumor linking Jennifer Aniston to Gerard Butler returned for another round – and it’s still false. Stories that “Phantom of the Opera” star Emmy Rossum is making beautiful music with Counting Crows lead Adam Duritz are also way off key. And the New York Post struck out in a piece about Yankees captain Derek Jeter being engaged to “Friday Night Lights “ star Minka Kelly.

Casting Corrections: Hundreds of outlets reported that Robin Williams, who starred in “Mrs. Doubtfire,” was asked to play “Britain’s Got Talent” standout Susan Boyle. (That’s like mistaking us for rumor cop.) Gossip Cop was the first to dispel that cross-dressing rumor. We also were ahead of the pack to report that Megan Fox is NOT signed to star as Catwoman.  And the story that Justin Timberlake and Snoop Dogg are doing a musical together also went up in smoke, thanks to Gossip Cop.

Miscellaneous Mistakes: Gossip Cop debunked the rumor that Gwyneth Paltrow told her husband Chris Martin that he should go solo from Coldplay; that Britney Spears is “pining” for paparazzo Adnan Ghalib, against whom there’s a restraining order; that Leonardo DiCaprio was told by the producers of his film “The Inception” to drop 30 pounds; that Hilary Duff refused to leave her trailer on the set of “Gossip Girl;” and that Miley Cyrus was offered more than $1 million to do a Guess jeans ad.

And – pat on our back – the British tabloid The Express had to eat crow after Gossip Cop corrected its fabricated story about Russell Crowe causing a fight in a pub outside of London. It never happened, and after Gossip Cop called them out, the paper issued Crowe a public apology.

Just because Robin Williams’ character Mrs. Doubtfire bore a resemblance to “Britain’s Got Talent” phenomenon Susan Boyle it does NOT mean that he will be playing her in a movie.

Still that didn’t stop the Daily Star, and a slew of other outlets, including IMDB and The Guardian, from reporting this. The Daily Star seriously wrote, “funnyman Robin Williams is being lined up to play Susan Boyle in a blockbuster movie of her life.” The paper even claimed Williams said, “I’ve been asked if I want to play Susan in the movie,” and that he “has been doing impressions of her by belting out her audition song I Dreamed A Dream” for celebrity friends.

Reps for Williams assure Gossip Cop this is completely made up, and they have no idea where this ridiculous rumor began.

Now if those media outlets reported he was slated to play Margaret Thatcher . . . that would be a whole different story.  Just kidding.
