Gossip Cop would like to wish Stephenie Meyer, author of the “Twilight Saga,” a very happy birthday! Meyer is blowing out 36 candles today. And while Gossip Cop has blown out far more than 36 Twilight-related rumors, we thought we’d pick a few stories to share on Meyer’s big day, because, hey, it can’t be easy having a December 24 birthday! Some are terrible, some are true, but all helped to make 2009 a huge – huge! – year for both Meyer and her blockbuster series.

Today brings another reprehensible death hoax courtesy of Internet pranksters. This time, the wildly unfunny “joke” claims that Stephenie Meyer, author of “The Twilight Saga” series, was found dead at her home this morning. Fortunately, Meyer is very much alive.
